You’re comparing a five day soap with a once a week primetime show.  If they concentrated on only say three couples and we had to watch them everyday, viewers would drop like flies.  We complain now that they can’t write about anything new and stories are seen over and over again…imagine what would happen if they only wrote for a few people.  What in the world could they have them do?  Let’s take ER.  Yes, they only had a few main characters but every week they brought in the guest actors to be able to have some variety.  They couldn’t have a show with only a few diseases/maladies a week, every week, they needed the variety to hold the viewers’ interest.  Would you want to watch one hour of the same characters every day?  The primetime shows go even further than the soaps…they change the peripheral characters every single episode.   Ours stick around much longer.

Now, let’s take Bo and Hope.  What could be written for them that would be interesting enough to watch every day or even every other day?  (With only three couples, you’re going to have to watch them every day or else all three every day.)  Imagin Hope going to the grocery store, Bo having the oil changed in the car, them going to Ciera’s school play?  Uh-uh, I don’t think so.  You know what they say about variety.

If you come right down to it, they DO write for the core couples, Bo and Hope; Sami and Rafe’ and Nicole and EJ.  Everybody else falls in the "filler" category.  Personally, I think they have it just right.

Nope, I don’t think that would work at all.  Think about it.  That would kill the rest of the soaps faster than David’s stone fell Goliath.

I used to take aspirin by the bottle full when I was younger but not for cramps (believe it or not, I’ve never had cramps in my life) but for headaches which occured during my period.  Strangely enough, after going to a multitude of doctors and having probably every test available without a diagnosis, when I went through my change of life, the headaches went away and I rarely, if ever, have one now.  But I can’t take them at all now because of my two perforated ulcers.

I guess as far as these product placements go, I’d rather endure them than say having to let one of the cast go to save on money.

I believe in love at first sight and have experienced it myself.  We were on a softball league together and the first night I was strongly attracted to him, to the point of thinking of him all night and the next day.  The next practice he asked me for a date and we were together for three years.  I can honestly say I fell harder for him than either of my husbands.  The only problem was, as he said, "a hot fire burns out quickly."  If you can call three years quickly.  And we separated amicably, both admitting that it had run it’s course.  Maybe that’s the problem with love at first sight…it’s not forever.

with Cher and Christina Aguilera.  Not only is she performing/recording a lot as a C&W singer but she is actively pursing her acting career also.  And, as of just the other day, she’s still dating Ryan and it seems to be pretty serious.

I’ve always liked the Houghs too, Juliana probably a little more than Derek, (who seems to have an ego almost as big as Maks) but they are certainly two talented kids.  I understand Derek intends to return to DWTS but not Juliana.

On a side note, doesn’t Maks’ brother look a lot like him?  Another couple of talented sibs although I don’t think Maks does anything but dance.  His bro can sure play that violin.  And Mark Balas is no slouch on the classical guitar either.  If anybody doesn’t know, Mark and Derek play in a band together.  They both sing also.

in the interactions between a mature couple as opposed to the younger set, eh?  They were both very honest with each other and themselves.  I thought that was very good writing.

so little time.  Since I got my Kindle, I’m reading some of the old classics that I never got to in school.  Just finished Uncle Tom’s Cabin.  Boy, what a powerful book when you consider it was written in the 1850s.

I just found out that Valley’s show had been cancelled so maybe it IS his Jack that is returning, although I can’t see Mark going back to an iffy soap opera after making it big in prime time.  But it’s possible he’s the one coming back.  I’d like it to be John but if we can’t have Drake back, I’d take Mark.  I really liked him with William Shatner in that law show, which my oldtimer’s is preventing me from recalling the name…

That was an excellent show.  It’s funny that I don’t remember most of those dances from the past but I really, really, enjoyed them all.  It kind of makes me miss those great variety shows they used to have on TV a gazillion years ago, Milton Berle, Your Show of Shows, Sonny & Cher, The Osmonds, Jack Benney, The Gary Moore Show, The Smothers Brothers, Dean Martin, Carol Burnette, et. al..  The Carol Burnette show where they did the skit wearing innertubes around their middles I think was the funniest thing I have EVER seen on TV.  I was in pain laughing so hard at them.  I know most people liked the Gone With the Wind one with her wearing the drapes better, but I liked the "fat people."

I really can’t understand how they can say those shows are no longer popular.  I guess its because of the worshipped younger demographics.  If it’s not loud and raucous, it can’t keep their attention.

Very good, if somewhat gruesome.  But then I think all the Risolli and Isles books have been good.  I’m not positive about this but I thought I’d read or heard on TV that a movie of this one is, being considered/in the works which kind of surprised me because of the TV series.  I can’t wait for it to resume.

Although not typical, it was one of our book club selections and I think everybody said they liked it.  No negative comments at all except about the blood and guts from those with the weaker constitutions.  :o)  And they thought it didn’t make much sense about how worried two doctors would be about caring for a serious injury.  (Not a spoiler at all.)

totally love Jack or would rather not have to put up with him.  I’ve never really cared for him much, he was always a clown, and not very successful at it either, and hope it’s not him coming back.  Although, it would certainly put a monkey wrench in the Jenial works.  But I believe they are officially divorced now so her dating Dan would really be none of his business.  Not that a little thing like that has ever been a factor on this show.

You know, I wonder if they did to Ralph’s injury what they do to football players and pump his ankle full of novocaine.  It would make sense to me that as long as dancing on it wouldn’t cause further injury, they’d do that so he could dance.  I’m sure the medics have done that more than once to performers who have an injury when the show must go on.

They couldn’t do that with the vollyball player (can’t remember her name, Missy-something?) when she was injured because walking on it would have caused further harm so she had to quit.  Boy, sometimes I wish I could get something like that in my back, just to give me a few hours pain free.  (Sorry for the pity-party, I’m just really hurtin’ today, three back surgeries plus three fractured vertebra and add some arthritis, it can do that.)

wasn’t his name Alexander?  Did he have any other kids, Justin’s sibs?

Maybe one of Justin’s sons would be a good pairing for either Abby or Melanie.  They should have at least one (or one of the twins) their age, right?

That’s what she looks like (IMO) and not how I feel about her.  And I disagree with your description of hate.  I told you about that voo-doo doll I got and was trying to think if I could try it out on anyone but there isn’t really anyone that I "hate" (or even "dislike") that much.  I can honestly say, I don’t hate anyone, anywhere, which is a far cry from disliking them.

I intensely dislike the character of Taylor (which includes both actors), I just dislike TB, mainly because I find nothing to like about her.  I think she DOES have a rat face, stringy hair, sunken eyes, and she’s way too thin, and her wardrobe stinks, which I know is not her fault.  That is why I have a hard time understanding how someone else can describe her as beautiful.  Again, different strokes.  I bow to your opinion.

went off accidently and she didn’t intend to shoot either of them.  (Could be wrong, I was once before!)  It looked that she was so tense holding the gun that she ended up pulling the trigger.  Anyone else think this or just me?  Another reason I think that is because I don’t believe she is at all certain which one is the real deal.

I didn’t get home last night until just before the end of the show.  When I turned on the TV and saw Romeo and Ralph as the last two, I couldn’t believe it.  I sure missed the boat on that one, didn’t I?  Well, that what makes for good TV, I guess.  And could Romeo have been any more gracious than he was?  He earned a lot of respect from me, the kid seems to be mature beyond his years.  He should question if he is really Master P’s kid.
