Participantwhen he went to Africa. I don’t recall hearing he ever left. And that’s also where Mike went when he left the show. This could have something to do with either one of them.
I haven’t read the book so wouldn’t have known that.

Participantthey were with Caroline so as to keep them safe and away from the action to prevent any further disasters.

Participantresponding to their calls because he’s scared to death but how many people (including all the family and the Keystone, oops, I mean the Salem PD) have searched that place. Can there possibly be a place large enough to hold a six-year old where they didn’t look?
Also, it’s been over 24 hours. Didn’t he have to pee?

Participantwill kick her to the curb when he finds out. He is too much in love with her and too forgiving a person. He will take her back. I just hope he does not have retailiation sex with Carrie. That would really create a mess. Can you imagine having to live the rest of your lives knowing you (or your spouse) has had sex with your BIL/SIL? Can you say eternally awkward?

Participantsetting aside the horrible writing for her and probably her direction also, i.e. the ranting, Ali is doing an amazing job in this portrayal. She actually brought tears to my eyes yesterday (as did Rafe). When she was sitting there in the chair with her eyes closed, you could feel her pain.
It’s really a shame because Ali IS a very good actress but to have her have to portray this crap is uncalled for.
And three cheers for Will for trying to talk some sense into her. Many times I’ve felt he is much more the adult in the family, well, until Rafe came along anyway. He’s still much more mature and has more common sense than his mother.

Participantshit happens. Sorry to be gross but that describes it quite well. If you want to point fingers, we could say, "Well, Sami, if you hadn’t been playing games with EJ and gotten yourself in a position to be raped and end up pregnant with Johnny, this wouldn’t have happened either.
Life is risky. If he had been hit by a car going into the pub would she still blame John? And Rafe? This whole blame thing is ludicrous.
We had so much hope for these new writers and, quite frankly, I think they’re worse than the last ones.

ParticipantAlso very optimistic (which Sami is certainly not, I’ve never seen anyone as pesimistic as she is) so, although I would have a lot of turmoil inside, I don’t think I’d show much outward reaction until I get word that something really bad has happened. Right now, he could just be lost somewhere but safe. I’m sure I’d entertain much worse things happening but would dwell on the "lost but safe" thoughts.
I am 100% certain that no matter what had happened to my child, including rape, torture, dismemberment, or whatever horible thing you could imagine happening to a child, I would still not react like Sami has.
The most horrible dream I’ve ever had was of my son (who was a teen at the time) drowning while trying to reach my hand for me to save him but couldn’t quite reach and he was washed out to sea in a rip tide. I was so sick to my stomach when I woke up and it took me a long, long time to get over that.
So, I know how devistated a parent would be but I just can’t see myself carrying on like that. As for blame, I can’t say, it would depend on the circumstances. In Sami’s case, certainly not, at least outwardly.

Participantthe stars they have selected. Many times in the past I have not know several either so I don’t think that’s any kind of change. Although I WOULD like to see "bigger" stars, we all seem to become invested in them eventually as the show progresses and pick our favorites. Truthfully, the bigger stars are probably too busy to take that much time out of their schedules. These are probably the only ones they can get.
My biggest beef (probably my only one except the suitability of the music to the dances*) lies in the judging and voting. It is so blatently skewed. They need to make it more transparent and eliminate all bias from the judges and somehow show the viewers how many viewer votes are received for each pair. I really think that more honesty would not hurt the ratings like the "rating enhancement" is obviously doing.
*They probably do this to get newer and different music in there but, really, when you go to a concert, you don’t want to hear all new music, you want to hear the ones that have been hits and the performer(s) have probably performed over and over and over. That’s what we want to hear…the ones we recognize and love.

Participantwhat ARE we going to do with you. EJ and Sami are over with, done, gone, kaput, out a here. Let go and send Sami back to Rafe…and KEEP her there!

Participantis very grandmotherly towards those kids, I think they are more like possessions to her. Have we ever seen her pick one up or have any kind of communication with them?
Just like her own kids. I really don’t see a lot of love towards them, just that they are also possessions she thinks is her duty to control and decide what’s best for them, in HER opinion.

Participantearly in our marriage and one thing that was brought up is when you are fighting (not disagreeing, not discussing, but fighting), you should always keep in mind that there are some things you never say because they may cut too deeply and never be fogotten by the other person. Even if you feel them at the time, you don’t say them.
I believe Sami made that mistake yesterday in her rant against both Marlena and John. Once this is all over, the only choice she will have is to say she is sorry and I don’t believe that will be sufficient to cancel those words. (Remember how Marlena said she DID mean what she said?) Even her grief did not give her license to say what she did…ESPECIALLY to her parents whom you only get one set of.

ParticipantJennifer Anniston and Keven Kostner in it? He dated all three generations too. It was very funny.

Participantthat in another post. Not only would it calm her down, it would take the edge off her grief. And maybe it’d make her fall asleep so we wouldn’t have to listen to her any more.

Participantabout lies. Jim Carrey couldn’t lie about anything. I think that was the one she was in.

Participanthe was shooting to kill. Otherwise I don’t think he would have taken the shot at John while he was hugging Sami, too much of a chance of missing him and hitting her. No, I think it was just sending John a sign, like the brick through the window.
