It was touching and well done.  If only it weren’t so far fetched.  I can’t believe there is a jail in this country anywhere that would allow that.

cases aren’t punished strongly enough.  It’s a defenseless animal who can’t understand what is happening.  So often they get off with only a fine.  I think jail time is appropriate.  How many serial killers start off abusing animals?  Like Don, I think they should get psychiatric help in addition to the jail time.  It just breaks my heart when I hear about stuff like this.  At least if you are beating a person, they know what’s happening and why and can try to defend themselves.  A dog has to just take it.  So sad…so very sad.

enjoy the holiday.  Not so much the Christian side of it but the "commercial" side, Santa, trees, decorations, etc.  I get Christmas cards from several Jewish friends every year.  But I never know whether to send them a Christmas card or a Hannuka one.  I’ve gone both ways in the past.

I loved The Women’s Murder Club and have read all the books.  Angie Harmon nails that character(s) in both shows.  I’ve only read two Rizzoli and Isles books but they were both very good.  I really enjoy the humor in R&I.  Sometimes there’s a lot, others, not so much.

I think this time EJ does truly love Nicole.  You could tell when he was watching her while she slept.  And I don’t know why we can’t have an evil, dastardly super couple.

I think Kate (AND Stefano) needs to go to jail before EJ and Nicole.  After she serves her time, then I’ll consider sending them down that path.

be alone on Christmas day is a good idea.  Since my oldest son in CA and his family can’t be here this year (have to rotate among the in-laws ya know) I’ve invited my Jewish neighbor and her daughter over for dinner.  Of course it’s just another day for them but I always feel the more the merrier.

One of the funniest expressions I’ve ever heard is that many Jewish people call Christmas Day, "Jews Go to the Movies Day."  Because practically everything is closed on that day, it’s about their only option.

I’ve lost interest.  I watched the first show last night because nothing else was on but it was just the same ol’, same ol’ again.  I can’t believe someone would eat five scorpions, let alone six people doing it.

And what the heck was in that barrel?  It looked like molasses.  Maybe that helped to give them a slightly sweet flavor.  :o)

Is this a spoiler?  I haven’t seen Gabby show any interest in Chad. Does this mean there’s going to be competition between Gabby, Melanie, AND Abby?  (Abby…Gabby…now we need someone named Flabby!)

than what she’s been all along.  I wonder why you are surprised at her actions.  Look at all the devious things she’s done in the past.  I think we all want to like her because…either her character has been written such that we really want to, or, somehow we seem to overlook so much that she does.

This is why I’ve always believed these two make a perfect couple.  I just hope they don’t break them up (as we know will happen eventually) too soon.  As I said before, I think they could easily go on to become a "super couple."

Kate was trying to help Sami.  She was just trying to get her to talk back to Madison to piss her off and get Sami fired.

there will be more to this story.  Certainly those two bumbling goofs were not of the caliber to be someone who could convince anyone to throw a game and head up such an extensive gambling operation.  They seemed to me to be just a couple of two-bit flunkies.

And that was Lisa Rinna also, wasn’t it?  I think that could work.  Let’s see, they’re not related in any way, are they?

about the food.  First of all, no crew can ever interfere with the contestants unless it’s an emergency, life-threatening medical issue.  And I think we’re not seeing the same lack of food issues we saw in the past, only because after watching this many seasons of the show, I guess it’s assumed we know how hungry they are.  Remember Ozzie saying he wanted to go to RI so he could eat and get his strength up?  And remember how they all dug into that disgusting ham?  Even to the point of making themselves sick.  Only someone starving could have done that.

And, no, they are not starving like the kids in Africa because they’ve been provided with the essential necessities to be able to stay healthy…rice and the fresh fruit available on the island along with any fish they can catch and the rewards (chickens) they win.  One year they caught rats, cooked them and ate them.  A couple of times they ate bugs too (ants, grubs, and worms).

As far as I can tell, the only thing they’ve been provided with outside of rewards were bathing suits since so many of them were running around in their underwear.  I think that caused too many cases of having to blur out private parts during challenges.  They did this last season too but that’s the only time I can remember seeing that.  Everything else they’ve gotten has been by way of reward challenges.  Heck, they have to brush their teeth with sticks.

I think Mark Barnett (and now Jeff Probst too) is one of the smartest producers of "reality" shows on the air.  He makes just enough changes to keep it fresh yet stays true to the main idea of the initial show.  The only thing I don’t like is that I do believe some of the stuff is manipulated but I firmly believe they are not given any help at all.

There was a special on TV about Survivor a couple of years ago that went behind the scenes and explained a lot about what and how the cameras worked.  They emphasized that there was absolutely no interaction (not even words) exchanged between the camera and sound men and the contestants.  And the crew quarters are far from where the contestants are.  They only see that area once they are voted off and either go home or are on the panel.
