ParticipantI had to look away. I haven’t heard anything about either actor being gay so, if they are not, they must really need that job to agree to those scenes.
As I’ve said before, I don’t mind them being gay but I do not want to watch them making out. It’s bad enough when they have the straight couples doing it, and I still don’t understand why they think we want to see that. I’d be very interested to see if there are any viewers that enjoy the "sex scenes" on these shows. I don’t want to see Victor and Maggie in an intense scene like that either.
I also said before, they are probably doing it to please the gay guys (I don’t think lesbians care one way or the other for soaps) but I would say the majority of us are against it. It seriously made me very uncomfortable, and really, I’m not a prude at all nor am I anti-gay. It was just extremely distasteful.

Participantthat he was not very well liked by other cast members. I think it was Mimi who said he was always harassing her. But don’t take that as gospel. But, yes, I liked him too but I’d imagine Hope would have a big say-so in it.

ParticipantWill and Sonny thing. I don’t mind them being gay on the show but I don’t want to watch them make out. I really think they are appealing to the gay viewers because I understand there is a large following of soaps by gay men.
Now this may seem strange to some people but if the actors were gay in real life, I don’t think it would bother me so much. Although I really don’t care for the "sex" scenes with anyone…gay or straight. I’d rather just imagine what they are doing. I always feel so uncomfortable for the actors and pay more attention to things like, is she going to slip out of that sheet or something.

ParticipantI took a break in the storm today to pull everything out of the pool and put it all away. It’ll probably like it doesn’t rain when you take your umbrella. But, better safe than sorry. At least it’s all safe and won’t be blowing around anymore. We’re under a warning until 11:00 tonight, then I’m handing it off to you.
We didn’t get as much rain as I expected so Sandy may be holding it to dump on NY. I hope not. Just stay safe, don’t worry about "things."

ParticipantLast night the wind blew some of my patio furniture into the pool and blew a couple of huge potted plants over. Now, we are under a hurricane warning until 5:00 tonight. <sigh>

ParticipantMy sister died at 56! I don’t remember exactly how long she went from her first diagnosis until she died but it was also several years.
Because she had colon cancer, I now have to have a colonoscopy every two years instead of five. I guess once a family member has had it, you are more likely to get it. My father died of pancreatic cancer and it’s the same thing there but there’s no tests for that one.

Participantin front because I wondered the same thing but a couple of times you could see the outline of the cups. Or she may have been wearing those sticky cups. I don’t think there’s any way Ali could get away without wearing a bra.

Participantit’s just the mess that the wind makes. I’ve already gone out twice today, in the rain, and skimmed the pool because of all the messy trees my neighbor has.
People with pools don’t plant messy trees in their yards but the neighbors don’t care. The guy behind me has two huge mahogany trees (that never should have been planted in the small space they are in) and they have to be one of the worst trees for dropping stuff. In April they lose all their leaves and they are small so can’t be raked but heavy so can’t be blown. Then, they get these great big "nuts" (size of a baseball) that break open and fall over the place. You have to pick those up by hand. Then he’s got these fishtail palms that have a fifty-gazillion seeds that drop all over the place. They sink to the bottom of the pool and the cleaner sends them to the filter where it gets all clogged up. (Sorry for the rant.)
But thanks, anyway, Nora. Some people have snow, we have hurricanes.

ParticipantAlthough my doctor assures me that the dimentia patient doesn’t really suffer as they don’t know what’s happening. I hope he’s right. It’s just such a burden on the care giver, as I’m sure you know.
I have had no dimentia in my family at all and I understand it tends to run in families so I hope I will avoid it. On the other hand, practically every relative I had died of cancer. However, since I’ve already had it, maybe I’ll miss that bullet too.
I just fear a lingering and painful death. My sister had colon/lung/liver cancer and lingered for months. I think to this day my nephew gave her an overdose of morphine at the end because he called all of us and told us we should all come and see her and she died the next day. Not that I blame him at all. If I get in the position, I hope someone would do it for me.

Participantvery creative up their sleeves, I’m afraid we may be seeing the end of Caroline. Although, from the way Kayla has described this "treatment center" they shouldn’t be gone THAT long. And, personally, I can’t see Caroline leaving the pub like that for just anyone to run. Maybe one of her kids, but it’s out of the question for Kayla, and Bo will be with her. Forget Roman and I don’t expect to see Frankie or Kim returning.
They sure are keeping this one under wraps. Peter only has one more week. Sounds like he will go out with a whimper instead of a bang like Lexie did.

Participantreally liked Eileen Davidson last time and all the parts she played she did well. Everybody thought she so deserved an Emmy for for it. I think she’s going to be a lot like Nicole, that is, you like her regardless of what she’s done. However, it appears she’s coming on bad right away this time so people who don’t know her from before might not like her at all but there’s absolutely no debating what a good actor she is.

Participantfor her siblings. Although Eileen Davidson played all the parts, the Banks were all different people. I’m not 100% certain but I’m thinking it was still James E. Reiley who was writing at that time.
My opinion of it was that it was pretty entertaining for a while but they just carried it too far. Eileen did an amazing job but she got burned out playing all those characters because she was on screen just about every day. She did a fabulous job of it but IMO became way too much.
I really loved ED at that time and hated to see her leave. Her character started out good but the problems with John and Marlena turned her bad but, for me, she was kind of like Nicole. You felt sorry for her because of what was happening. It was the same when she lost her baby and kept up the charade, she was so heartbroken. I think that was the beginning of her going to the "dark" side.

ParticipantIn fact, I though he’s been rather humble. Just goes to show ya, I guess…different strokes. I suppose that’s what fame does to people. But then I didn’t see the egotist in Maks for a while either.
Remember David Jansen (The Fugitive)? I always thought he was such a hunk until someone told me he had big ears. I had never noticed them (actually Clark Gable’s either) before and it totally ruined him for me. I hope I don’t start looking for bad things with Gilles now.

Participantthat actually brought a tear to my eye at the end. Very well done. Man, there are certainly some very talented dancers this time. It’s kind of like Celebrity Apprentice, now that they’ve done shows with "celebrities," I don’t want to watch the regulars anymore. But, with DWTS, they have to have regulars before they can get Allstars.
Bonbon
Participantwhile I was watching the show that they said there would be no elimination last night which is why they had the double elimination two weeks ago. It was a good show last night and I think everybody is doing amazingly well.
I didn’t think Gilles’ team could top Shawn’s but I laughed my head off at them. They weren’t technically as good but I thought the entertainment factor was way off the chart. That was hilarious and I was smiling throughout the whole thing. And when Gilles and Pita ended up in towels I almost jumped up off the couch. I wonder who choreographed it…Maks probably.
