Participantwith so many soaps being cancelled, there must be a lot of talented writers out there looking for job. Why can’t we get any to write for Days?

ParticipantI felt uncomfortable watching Gabby and Nick today and they weren’t even in bed yet.

ParticipantBut haven’t watched last night yet. I’m kind of glad it’s only an hour because I’m not as fond of this one as I am the regular Heidi Klum one. Yes, I think you have to get to know all the designers better before you can really get invested in it. But I’ll hang on.

ParticipantAnd now Jennifer is going to confess to pushing Nicole down the stairs? This is beyond belief.

Participantwhich was the worst hurricane I have experienced here in Florida, but at least it wasn’t cold when we were without power. In fact, it wasn’t really hot either, it was October 28th so we didn’t swelter w/o A/C either.
The same can be said of Katrina. Although it was pretty hot there, that’s better than freezing. I feel so bad for those people. It just goes to show you, when they say "get out" you should get out. And the sad thing is, most of those people probably don’t have hurricane insurance.
That makes me wonder… Apparently there’s going to be a telethon coming up and I just want to know how that money gets to the people that actually need it. I’m always hesitant to donate to those for that reason although I did give to the Red Cross for Katrina.
To answer your question, yes, we got some effects here but I can hardly say anything compared to what they got up north. All I had was a mess from the wind. It was such a huge storm it affected so many people. I’d say everybody on the entire east coast was affected somewhat.

ParticipantI thought how refreshing to watch a true professional act. Eileen is just so confident, so convincing, and so at ease in her part. I think she is one of the better actors on the show.

ParticipantPeople pick and choose what they believe. I will use Catholicism as an example. They do not believe in either birth control yet how many of them practice it? I can understand a person who feels their religion, ergo the bible, tells them homosexuality is wrong and a choice, yet, even though their religion may not condone sex among the unmarried, feel it is okay and seriously believe they are doing nothing wrong.
Of course it’s hipocrital but he’s definitely in good company in Salem. I’m sure the writers are doing this (and I actually applaud them for it) just to show the other side of the coin. Everyone else has accepted Sonny and Will and that’s just not real life. At least now there’s someone to stand on the opposing soap box. I think this just adds more realism (which Days is certainly not known for) to the subject.
I just wish they’d keep their physical side behind a closed door. The gay people I know don’t go around kissing and making out in front of others.

Participantwhat to write about. They are obviously trying to stay true to the history of the show (which I think we all appreciate) but there doesn’t seem to be any imagination going into any type of interesting storyline(s). All they have done since they started is throw two people together and have them either consoling one or the other or one giving the other one advice or comfort. No mistery, intrigue, to "romance," no humor, nothing developing, just plain nothing interesting in other words, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah.
For what they have done, it’s been okay and I like some of the things of the past they’ve brought up but it’s like eating only steak with no side dishes or dessert.

ParticipantI think this time he is pretty positive this is over for him. We read how tired Lexie was of the show so it’s possible Peter had gotten to the same place. The last I read he didn’t have anyhthing specific in mind he was going to do, but I’m sure he had some thoughts and maybe even some offers but I doubt it will be in soaps.

Participantthe last of my decorations. I already had orange lights around the planters (all this outside), black birds in the trees, little ghosts I made from styrofoam balls with "dresses" on and eyes painted on hanging from the trees, some WalMart scarecrows and a tombstone. Some ceramic pumpkins, a big black plastic rat and six glass pumpkin candle holders on a post that stick in the ground.
I just finished making some illuminarias and drew pumpkin faces, bats, tombstones, ghosts and BOO on them, filled them with sand and a tea light and I’ll put them out tonight. I have a big wall that goes across my front courtyard and they will go along there.
I too am a nut for Halloween (as you can probably tell). I usually dress up, either as a vampire (I have a great outfit), the Phantom of the Opera (same cape), the guy from Scream, a French maid, a Carol Burnette-type washerwoman, a Greek goddess, a 1890 swimsuit with hat or a mumu-wearing Hawaiian old woman. But this year I’m just going to wear my Halloween t-shirt.
Everybody have fun tonight (everybody Wang Chung tonight…) but stay safe and don’t eat too much candy! I’ve got some more decorations in the garage, I just may go dig them out also.

ParticipantI was so horribly disappointed, more so that Kirstie didn’t go than Sabrina did. I can’t believe she has the fan base to keep her there this long. Maybe some of it is because of Maks’ fans. But it was certainly an injustice. She even thought she was going home.
I will still watch because I enjoy so many other aspects of the show but, IMO, they really need to come up with a better way of voting. This is sooooo unfair and I think they are going to start losing a lot of viewers.

Participantlast time but I don’t think I’d like a recast now. Peter has just played the part too long to replace him. That would be like replacing Hope or John or Marlena…just wouldn’t be the same.
Bonbon
ParticipantI don’t think there is anything related to being a "legal" uncle or how that would ever come into play.
Bonbon
Participantthey will be replacing Bo. I mean, how long would he be in California with Caroline? Even rehab is only a couple of weeks. They acted like Bo was going to be gone for months.
