Participantsince Sean Brady has been gone for a while now, that Victor would start courting Caroline, (given their history and interest as friends). Besides now that Vivy thinks she owns Victor lock, stock and barrel – I’d love to Victor and Caroline get together even more now and watch Vivian boil over – I think Caroline could take her down a notch or two…

ParticipantI know I’ve reported a couple to ya and you’ve taken care of them immediately! Amazing considering the sheer volume of spammers that you have to go through, that you can "get ’em" at all but we love your – "our" web site and do appreciate all the time and trouble that you have to take. Thank you!

ParticipantI’ve gotta agree with ya Bonbon! (It’s eerie how close we see the show and characters sometimes, given your 3,000 miles away!

Participantburied Carly alive – I’d say you are right on on your summation that Viv absolutely hates Carly. It musta killed Viv when Lawrence took Carly away "to live happily ever after". I’ll bet Vivian egged Lawrence on many a time to devil Carly – there must be some gene in that family than goes bad after awhile given Lawrence and Vivy’s personality traits. I’d like to see how Carly and Lawrence’s son turned out, (think Carly mentioned that they were not close).

Participantwas going to aerate Vivy’s scalp today – it was a good scene – as much as I love Auntie Viv, it was good to see Phillip rip into her…she deserves it. Phillip and Mel have chemistry – (Mel brings out Phillip’s character more than him just smiling and showing his dimples). Given the time to let them develop and get them into some good story lines behind them, I think they could blossom as a formidable and interesting couple. Maybe – since the writer’s did FF’d their SL from last year, that it will continue to get better as time progresses. Phillip, I think, if given half a chance will get out from under Victor’s shadow and become his own man. Mel, I didn’t like at all when she first came on board, but now I think that she can hold her own; that is if the writer’s quit making her a helpless little baby.
I didn’t start watching the show when Bo and Hope were just begining, but I’m sure it took time for the sparks to develop and the stories to get more involved as time went by. And isn’t Hope suppose to be a bit younger than Bo? So given that Phillip is older than Mel is OK to me.
Stephanie is like bland milk toast to me in spite of the writer’s trying to drum some ooooooommmph in her story lines…she just isn’t watchable to me. The character doesn’t work, even back when she was a red-headed (another actress) race car driver, a college student, or a Titan "business woman". I’d rather see her go to Switzerland or London.

Participantthe last 16 or so years – once a fan always a fan – we love our teams! I did love this last superbowl though – it was fast moving that’s what was great about it… and I did want the Saints to win!

Participanttooooooooooo funny! Good thing that these kinds of winters are more rarified now-a-days…I remember rain-Rain-RAIN from Oct. 15th to March 30th growing up in California…for awhile there (since 1998 until this winter) it’s been a bit milder…with a few droughts…You are in Florida – right? I was born in Pensacola…never did we ever, never, ever wear anything warmer than suntan lotion in the winter…this year they had frost! Looks like my OJ bill will go up!

Participantbeing raised in the faith, however, when I went to an ultra-modern Catholic church a few years ago at Palm’s Sunday, there was a "cross" without Jesus – I was a bit flemexed to say the least at that – but then the church has changed a lot since I went there – when I was growing up you couldn’t touch the communion wafer with your hands – the Nuns would have beat you senseless – whack! … and the Mass was in Latin (ahhhhh the good ol’ days).
A cross and crucifix are related, but not the same thing. While the crucifix does indeed use the symbol of the cross as its backbone, what makes it unique is the added element of Christ’s body. There are those that believe that the empty cross is a more powerful symbol, as it emphasizes the fact that Christ is no longer there and his triumph over death. Most Protestant Christians who use the cross as a symbol use the empty cross.
However, the Catholic tradition prefers to place emphasis on Christ’s death for the sins of humanity—His resurrection would not have happened had He not died on the cross first. And, thus, this aspect of theology is emphasized in the crucifix. However, not only Catholic’s use the crucifix, Anglican, Coptic and Eastern Orthadox church also does.

ParticipantNathan is just being a guy…I don’t think Nathan is "lying" to himself. He is to Stephanie. In reality, what guy is going to turn down a free "slowride" in a hotel room with a willing, breathing, attractive, young woman? Not many. Nathan just gave Steph that standard ol’ classic line saying, "I’m over Mel. I’m into just you baby". Women (audience) will accept that.
After all this is a soap, statistically speaking – the market demographic audience is women 18 to 60+ years of age. Women watch for escapism, to put a bit of romance and intrigue into their long 18 to 20 hour days. This is the same reason men watch football or other sports, to put some oooomph in their male "id" i.e., "ego" during their busy week. Next time, observe the advertised products during a televised football game as opposed to the commerical advertising during a soap opera. Football: beer, fast cars, women in bikini’s, fast food. Soaps: Makeup, hair products, face lifts, etc.
The reason the writer’s portray Nathan’s character as being "confused" about how he feels is because Melanie, "his true love" isn’t available. The writer’s pair him up with an available, willing female, "Stephanie", to make this concept of getting her in a hotel room more palatable for their target audience. (Soft porn). It’s all about the writer’s coming up with a concept so that the advertisers product sell to their core audience.
