by you know what…he is so wishy-washy about women.  He could be a great character and fun to watch but I would want a man who doesn’t know his own mind and doesn’t stand by "I do what I say’ (I’m going to do), ‘".

take a "bite" out of Vivian!  But then Maggie would have ended up in the hospital with rabies…

So true BonBon – so true…in less time than it takes a clock hand to move 24-hours the "loves of their lives" are discarded and it’s move on to someone new…Look at Bo and Hope – true loves "forever" but where is Bo now – Carly; Phillip and Belle, Phillip and Chloe, Phillip and Mel, Mel and Nathan, (the one good thing I can say about Stephanie – she is consistint with Nathan), look how much Nicole "loved" supposedly loved EJ at one time, Sami and Lucas, Sami and Austin, Sami and Brandon, Sami and _ _ _ _ _ _ (you fill in the blanks)…

agreement 100% with you manjeno – and have been saying it for years.  Sami may be a staple on the show and we all love Alison, but the same thing over and over and over again is just too much.

I did like when Sami and EJ played the 1940’s characters a few years ago, and the Colleen/Santos characters – those were a different take on the same ol’ same ol’ will she, won’t she, but we can’t have her playing a fantasy in a fantasy forever.

But, as you so well pointed out – for a decade now Sami has been not working, having babies, running from man to man to man…Rafe is just number one on her latest hits list.  If they stay together for 2 months or two years, she will have him for lunch someday, (meaning he will be the main entree) like a praying mantis.

Since Sami is such a long time and well established character – I wish the writer’s would hook her up with someone  – (and I am by disclosure an EJ/Sami fan), keep them together permanently.   Sami could redeem herself, by becoming someone like her mother, Marlena on the show.

For a while now I have been mad at the show for not giving us, (I’m speaking for the ladies here) strong, independent, forthright and good role models to watch.

I’ve been watching the show for nearly two decades – there used to be great women on the show.  What happened writers?  I don’t mind a woman slipping, (sort of like Hope has now), for a special story line, but some day soon, I would hope to see more women that are more based in reality to the female viewers of whom make up most of the fans.

    Baby Boomers there is!)

First, we survived being born to mothers who smoked and/or drank while they were pregnant.

They took aspirin, ate blue cheese dressing, tuna from a can and didn’t get tested for diabetes.

Then after that trauma, we were put to sleep on our tummies in baby cribs covered

    with bright colored lead-base paints.

We had no childproof lids on medicine bottles, locks on doors or cabinets and when we rode our bikes, we had baseball caps not helmets on our heads..

As infants & children, we would ride in cars with no car seats, no booster seats, no seat belts, no air bags, bald tires and sometimes no brakes.

Riding in the back of a pick- up truck on a warm day was always a special treat.

We drank water from the garden hose and not from a bottle.

We shared one soft drink with four friends, from one bottle and no one actually died from this.

We ate cupcakes, white bread, real butter and bacon. We drank Kool-Aid made with real white sugar. And, we weren’t overweight.. WHY?

Because we were always outside playing…that’s why!

We would leave home in the morning and play all day, as long as we were back when the streetlights came on..

No one was able to reach us all day. And, we were OKAY.

We would spend hours building our go-carts out of scraps and then ride them down the hill, only to find out we forgot the brakes. After running into the bushes a few times, we learned to solve the problem

We did not have Play stations, Nintendo’s and X-boxes. There were no video games, no 150 channels on cable, no video movies or DVD’s, no surround-sound or CD’s, no cell phones, no personal computers, no Internet and no chat rooms.

WE HAD FRIENDS and we went outside and found them!

We fell out of trees, got cut, broke bones and teeth and there were no lawsuits from these accidents.

We would get spankings with wooden spoons, switches, ping pong paddles, or just a bare hand and no one would call child services to report abuse.

We ate worms and mud pies made from dirt, and the worms did not live in us forever.

We were given BB guns for our 10th birthdays, made up games with sticks and tennis balls and, although we were told it would happen, we did not poke out very many eyes.

We rode bikes or walked to a friend’s house and knocked on the door or rang the bell, or just walked in and talked to them.

Little League had tryouts and not everyone made the team. Those who didn’t had to learn to deal with disappointment. Imagine that!!

The idea of a parent bailing us out if we broke the law was unheard of. They actually sided with the law!

These generations have produced some of the best risk-takers, problem solvers and inventors ever. The past 50 years have been an explosion of innovation and new ideas.

We had freedom, failure, success and responsibility, and we learned how to deal with it all.

If YOU are one of them, CONGRATULATIONS!

Kind of makes you want to run through the house with scissors, doesn’t it ?

over the past five years or so, I never used them that much…in fact, currently I don’t have a "cell phone" provider now (I can hear the shocked screams of horror right now)…it’s not the money or cost – it’s the privacy and peace principle.

If I wanted to talk a lot on the phone all the time, I’d "unretire" or go pick up the home phone.   A lot of my friends berate (or cajole) me into having a cell – under the guise of "every one, especially a woman, needs a cell phone for emergencies".

Yes, they are nice to have.  Yes, there’s been one or two times that I wished I’d had one due to the circumstances.  However, I know folks that you might as well glue (and use the super cement kind), to their ear or implant the phone in their head – (that’s coming in the future I’m sure)!   They reach for their phone first thing before even turning off their alarm clock in the am to see if they missed a text or a phone call in the night…Ahhhhhhhhh, NO thank you.

the big purses – you are probably right, they have to get their money’s worth…or else it’s the fashion and they are trying to keep up with the latest and greatest…I carry a lot in my purse but my purse isn’t that big.

of Nighty-Naughty-Time Hope…it gave her an intense story line, but it was so chopped up and fast.  If they just bring it to an abrupt conclusion (with Bo finding out – etc.) then what’s next?  Will their story lines being put on the back burner again?  After all this is our very last "super" couple on the show – I want to see more of them after all these years – still.  She doesn’t have to keep bashing people or setting fire to Bo, but she could realize herself and try to resolve (not sure how) and why couldn’t she tell Bo herself what she found out she was doing and he helps her get better, bringing them back together as a couple that way?

is a nuclear winter (God forbid) – women can survive with the contents of their purses…I know my back hurts most days lugging mine around…I have:

a small Bible, a brush, a comb, assorted makeup in bag – (at least six items), asprin, gasex (heh – I’m old and I like Wendy’s chili), Tums, check book, wallet (no money – just pictures and other essential cards for health care and such), Germex handwash, hand cream, keys – I have no idea where they go, a small plastic bag of dog cookies (in case I have to lure a stray off the highway or street for safety sake), coupons for the grocery store (that I always forget to use), six packages of assorted gum – some of those have been in the purse for about six months, tooth brush and holder, small tube of tooth paste, floss, eye drops, extra pair of eye glasses and sun glasses, a full plastic water bottle, small plastic bag of cookies for me (well, they are mostly crumbs now), about $10 of change that always ends up in the bottom of the purse no matter how much I try to keep it in the coin purse,  a coin purse with about 3 cents in it, small box of strike anywhere matches (no, I have never smoked why I started carrying them I don’t remember – last camping trip? maybe), a laminated emergency card with my doctor’s and my vet’s information, a small address/phone book, a copy of my last will (I live in California – ya never know), and oh yeah – a .38 sp. (I live in California – ya never know)…

He is such a very nice guy.  I don’t want him to be with Sami – Rafe may think that Sami is great and that he loves her, but she will break his heart.

I don’t know even why Rafe has to pair up with anyone anyway right now…why can’t he just be single until they develop a story with someone (new?) that will not treat him like dirt like Sami will eventually?  You all know Sami’s history and I don’t think that "a leopard can change it’s spots".

EJ can "handle" Sami, they are birds of a feather – (plus they click in the chemistry department).  They both have sins that they have done in the past, in spite of that, they are both trying to be good people (for the most part) because of their shared bond with their children and their history together, (bad and good).

there would be a "romantic" attachment for Chad, (if she is 19 or 20)…and if Chad turns out to be one of "DeFamily", being Stefano’s grandson…well, there goes an endless possiblity of story lines for several years.
