Retreat. After years of being a priest Father Eric saw the light with the help of talking in circles with Brother Timothy- for 24 hours. /end sarcasm

I can’t believe this is sweeps. These storylines are so OTT; plus, to me, feel rushed and fake.

what a “coincidence” with timing when Nicole has the goods to clear his name. The question is will she or won’t she reveal the evidence? As for Eric, you can’t unring a bell.

in sight for most fans, but not for me. I am very disappointed. I so wanted Eric to remain a priest, and for Nicole to find happiness with either Daniel or even Brady, although I think I enjoy her more with Daniel. Brady is too screwed up in his mind, between the drugs, the alcohol and now Kristen returning to really send him over the edge. Nicole and Daniel have great chemistry and are fun to watch, and God knows they both deserve happiness without someone standing in their way. But, unfortunately, that doesn’t look like that’s going to happen. Pity, because GV is so believable as a Priest and doesn’t deserve the drama that occurs in any couple’s life the likes of which are presented on DOOL. So, good luck with making that work, writers, but forgive me when I say, “I’ll believe the happily every after when I see it.”

I think that Eric believes that there is no way for him to prove his innocence and that he will be defrocked. So he wants to quit first. This way it is his choice not the church’s.

My concern is that Nicole will go back to her old ways– hiding truth so she can have happiness.  I fear that she will keep the evidence hidden because she thinks if he really has the chocie, he would choose the church.

I really don’t see this working.

Eric will return to the priesthood. If he finds out Nicole kept this info from him I cannot see the relationship continuing. Meanwhile, if Nicole really has changed for the better she will tell him. I do believe she will initially try and convince herself Eric chose this path irregardless of being cleared – and he will do and say a lot to uphold this – but she has to eventually realize keeping mum on the evidence is not only plain wrong but a huge trust issue that will in the end only be destructive.
Plus, wouldn’t suppressing the evidence let Kristin and Chyka off the hook?

So proud of Nicole. For once she told the truth. Con’t get why Eric doesn’t want to hear this.

which is what he needs to see in black and white, and that she has not done. Just telling him makes me believe that he thinks she’s just telling him what he WANTS to hear, and that’s not proof for the church.

he still tried to kill Nicole and Eric so if they catch him, they can still convict him of that. As far as Kristin goes, yeah, probably she’ll be off scott free, but she’s a Dimera, what else would we expect?

If they don’t let her tell him the truth, I’m going to throw somethign at the TV.  One would think if Nicole really loves Eric, she would want his name cleared first and foremost as it is torturing him.

before she went on that dangerous mission to get the evidence and at that point it sure didn’t look like she would have turned back had she known his choice. She’s now letting herself believe it will make no difference. However, where she is truly being selfish is even if Eric chose her with all the cards revealed, she’s suppressing his exoneration. Eric deserves that and Kristen and Chyka need to pay.
Wanna bet she’ll finally be about to spill the truth just as Eric finds out?

They should have had Nicole show him the documents from the get-go.  That would truly prove how much she loves him.  But NOOOOOOOO (nod to Belushi), they have her holding it back and it’s probably going to ruin the trust between her and Eric.  I so want my girl to find happiness!

she should have revealed it to Eric at once. Now she is so conflicted, not because she doesn’t realize that Eric truly loves her, but she questions whether he would feel this way if he knew he could return to the church and the priesthood all along if the proof of his innocence was revealed. She’s cooking her own goose, as far as I’m concerned, and I feel like I’ve watched the same scenes with them all week. It’s been boring and repetitive for me.

Personally, I think she’s going to find a way to return the documents to Chyka’s hideaway so they can be discovered by Hope and the Salem P.D. That way her and Daniel’s hands will be clean, and Eric won’t know she came close to destroying any chance he had of making up his own mind for his own reasoning. If she wins, she wins ….. if he returns to the priesthood, well you know what they say: “if you love something, set it free …. if it comes back, it’s yours….if it doesn’t, then it was never yours to begin with….” For me, never has there been a more perfect description of that quote than this storyline for Eric and Nicole.

that she returns the stuff like you said. Because this story is making me pull my hair out. I mean, she was about to tell Brady all about it! Ugh.

that Eric really made the right decision either. I think he is certain he will never be exonerated by the church so he may as well make a pre-emptive strike and renounce his vows before they oust him and be with Nicole. I’ll bet dollars to donuts if he knew he would be found innocent, he would absolutely choose the church over Nicole. But I don’t think we will ever know exactly how he feels unless we hear him talking to God.
