Why does Eve use such a huge wine glass? Does it taste better in a large glass? I guess I’m not a wine aficionado but mine tastes just fine in a smaller glass!
The large glass allows the wine to "breathe", allows for swirling, and allows the bouquet/aromas to be enjoyed. The glass is not filled…thus the room needed for the above. In a word, YES…it does taste better!!
That is the correct size for red wine/ You do not fill it up all the way. It is designed to allow the wine to breathe. She might be a lush but she does usethe correct glass LOL
before you pour it which is why you open it at least 15 minutes before you pour…or…what used to be done, decant it first. I guess people don’t do that so much anymore. It is to allow the aroma to accumulate in the glass when you swirl it and take a sip…or gulp, which ever kind of wine drinker you may be. :o)
but honestly I’m not a wine snob, not saying that you are. I just looked at that glass and my first thought was damn, that would hold the whole bottle! I use one of those aerators to pour my red wine through. It definitely improves the taste without using a huge glass or having to let it breathe for 15 minutes.
I am not a wine snob, actually I don’t care for red wine. Just know that this is the type of glass that is used for red wine. The wine is only filled half way. At least Days know which glass is correct!
