The priest that was talking to John the other day sounded so familiar, then I realized he sounded just like the guy who played the priest on the show "MASH".  Was the name Father Mulcahey?  He even had the round glasses like him.  I’m pretty sure it’s him.  Guess he has a knack for playing a man of the cloth.

was supposed to come back, but that priest they had on the other day wasn’t Ralph Waite. Don’t know why they had a different actor on.

I was right!.  I just looked up Father Mulcahey (actor William Christopher) and it does say he was on Days on 11/6/12 as Father Tabias.

Oh, I never watched an episode of the Waltons. I love mash though, wish they’d keep him as father Matt.

He was Father Tobias, played by the actor who played on Mash.  Ralph Waite, the actor who plays Father Matt on Days, was the one on The Waltons.

This guy didn’t sell me as a priest.  That poor parish sure does go through a lot of priests.

Ralph Waite, now 84 years old, played John Walton (the dad) on The Waltons and Father Matt on DOOL.

William Christopher, now 80 years old, played Father Mulcahy on M*A*S*H and Father Tobias on DOOL.

Ralph Waite earned a master’s degree from from Yale University Divinity School and was a Presbyterian minister before deciding on an acting career.  A former minister at my church was in the same class at Yale with Ralph Waite.
