I’m really happy with everything so far, all except for the jack SL. Him taking down a drug lord is too hard to swallow!! i mean seriously?
I missed a few minutes today and caught the tail end of Jack talking about his reason for not being around… Did he actually explain what the reason was today?
Jack was always kind of weird, crazy, but I really didn’t like how they had turned his character into such a scumbag when if nothing else he always seemed to have a true love for Jennifer. So, I’m hoping he’ll be redeemed and will quickly get rid of that monkey attached to his face.
(I also hope they don’t go back and make Alice a criminal or something. There are just some things you shouldn’t muck with!)
but I guess having Jack back would not be my first choice as I am enjoying the Daniel/Jenn romance right now. I realize that there are many Jack and Jenn fans and if it helps the show’s ratings, go for it. I think we all have our favorite couples and I am just glad to see some of my faves back with good stories that don’t involve triangles or silliness! I am loving this new Alice mystery, the John mystery, the Maggie/Victor romance, and even the mayor’s race has some potential with the Dimeras going against each other! Count me a happy camper for now. Yes, I do love to pick things apart and throw in realism but that doesn’t mean I’m criticizing the show’s writers, just analyzing it! lol
His telling the story to Adrienne happened off camera. I guess we won’t hear his explanation until he talks to Jennifer.
for Jack and Jennifer as a couple. But I love, love, love, Jen and Daniel. Their scenes just make me feel good and make me smile.
As to our negative comments…I’m sure everybody is enjoying the heck out of all this new stuff, characters, scenes, writing, etc. but the griping, nit picking and complaining is what we do here. Look how active this board has been since the 26th. What would be here if nobody expressed their displeasure with anything? Kind of dull and boring IYAM.
I’m loving to hear who feels the same as I do and who doesn’t. It has given us a lot to discuss. And I’m sure TPTB understand all this. In fact, if I were in their shoes, it would give me a good indication of which way to take the show. See who like/dislikes what the most and then take that direction. Isn’t that something we’ve always been asking for? You bet it is.
I remember a comment from James E. Reilly, he said he didn’t care if the fans hated the show if they were talking about it, he felt successful. I didn’t really agree with him but I guess to a degree he was right, if you’re talking about it, you’re watching it! Allison Sweeney posted a link to their tweets and FB pages so that the fans could comment on what they liked/disliked. I’m enjoying the show and finding myself really watching the whole show which hadn’t happened a lot at prior to the change. I also love that this site is alive again with daily posts.

Also gave a little shout out to the Salem Place Forum
and have found Dr. Dan creepy from the start. I did like him with Chloe, but didn’t like how he went after her while she was married to Lucas. When they said their goodbyes, you could still see how much chemistry there is between the two actors. Maybe he could forgive her & move to Chicago to be with her – or bring her back, Salem’s not that far from Chicago so she could commute. (Just think how irritated Kate would be if Chloe got partial custody & Parker came to Salem on week-end visits!) And I really liked Nicole & Chloe’s friendship, it softened Nicole’s character and made her much more likable.
I was starting to like Jen with Dan but I have to admit I am now torn. I always liked Jack and Jen although I admit he could be a doofus. I do enjoy his sense of humor in general but the schticky stuff with the pratfalls and such are annoying. Now I am waiting to see what develops. I am not sure who she should be with but the scenes between Jack and Abigail today were awesome. I could feel her anger and his pain.
I am also very torn. I like Jenn and Dan, but always liked Jack and Jenn. I also thought Jack could be over the top sometimes, so it depends on which Jack this is. I don’t think I will know which way I want to go on this couple for awhile….which really tells me this is a good triangle, even though I don’t want to admit it. I didn’t want Jack back, but now that he is, I am very torn. Great SL though, because the scenes from it are very good.
change Jack’s personality. I think that’s the only way possible he would ever win Jen back, if he does a complete 180º. That said, it think it would be a very risky path for TPTB to take as Jack’s previous popularity was entirely based on who he was then.
It WOULD be interesting to see what kind of character we’d see if he does decide to really, truly become a different person. Would we like him or not? Or, more importantly, would Jen and Abby like him?
I also wonder if we are going to see JJ in the future.
