I was somewhat disappointed in the farewell of this Days star. The fact that the script had Sami only leaving til next spring did not jibe with the real life exit of Alison’s two plus decades’ reign as one of the most dynamic soap queens. If Sami, for instance, had gone into the witness protection program with no date or expectation of return the goodbyes could have been riveting. Instead I felt Days came up a bit short.
I loved her scene with Caroline – my favorite. Yet her final one with Marlena wasn’t nearly as moving as I expected. I felt Marlena was a bit subdued.
I also wanted her last scene to be more memorable. Maybe standing outside at Horton Square and touching her grandparents’ plaque and then tearfully whispering “Goodbye Salem.” Something to bring her stint full circle.

Just to see them, (the show) do justice to a star (AS) that carried the show through many, many story lines, good and bad. "Sami" drove me crazy at times with her antics but I enjoyed watching her when the show gave her a good SL. Allison deserved a much better send off, even if in a year or so she returns, (the kids will all be in college or be makes ng Sami a grandmother), much as Sami did for Marlena. Be that as it may, she needed a better goodbye.

I was mad that there was no goodbye scene with John. The scenes of John and Brady were a waste of perfectly good film air time

How about a very weak two? So very disappointing.

I don’t know why I said grandparents. I just meant it would have been a landmark spot to say goodbye.
I do think Days painted themselves into a corner with the six month thing – viewers knew she was leaving permanently (at least in theory) so did Days think they were softening her departure? Even if a return is in the cards one day, I cannot imagine A.S. coming back anytime soon.

Days didn’t show in Boston yesterday due to the coverage of an ex-mayor’s death.  Normally I wouldn’t care too much to miss an episode since I already fast-forward through a lot of the show as it is, but I really wanted to see Ali’s last day!  I had assumed she would say goodbye to Marlena yesterday but it’s too bad it wasn’t that moving.  Sounds as if I didn’t really miss any great farewell to Salem.  I guess I will watch on my I-pad when the episode comes available this weekend.

Actually they have been saying good bye for an entire week. Almost everyone in the show had a scene with her. Maggie didn’t make an appearance (but she is a Horton, not a Brady)

Nicole’s scenes with her were very touching and you could tell that Ali was showing real tears and emotion. I also liked her goodbye with Rafe, Eric, and especially Lucas. (Loved his comment that it is usually him that leaves- cause he has been fired several times).

Actually, I thought that Sami’s scenes with Marlena were good. They have so much history and Marlena acted more like someone who would see her in six months!!

The picture album kind of summed up her years on the show.

I feel that everyone is diappointed cause they were hoping that EJ would be in the car waiting for her, but seems like the show put out some false "spoilers" (unless something ties it up today.)
