This came as a surprise to me – Jennifer Lopez apparently will replace Ellen as American Idol judge. I also heard Steven Tyler of Aerosmith and Harry Connick in the running to replace Simon.
sounds like Jennifer Lopez is a done deal to replace Ellen. Ryan Secrest said that he’s pretty sure that it was very difficult for Ellen to hurt the contestants’ feelings when she had to tell them anything negative about their performance. Evidently, she had told the producers a few months ago that she wouldn’t be back. It sounds like Kara DiGuario was not renewed to come back, so they’re going back to just three judges. I will find it very difficult to look at Steven Tyler if he’s on the show. He has a very unique face that I don’t find easy to watch.
if Steven Tyler and Mick Jagger ever got together and had a baby what it would look like? O-M-G! I like how kind you were to him by calling his face ‘unique.’ Actually, I don’t think it’s his whole face, just his mouth, much the same with Mick. They both have very large ones. (Now Jenn, don’t scold me because I’m not being critical, you must agree, this is a true statement.)
Maybe that’s why they make such good music.and I think it’s a good move. This show needs a fresh shot in the arm and I hope they find a worthy replacement for Simon.
But what AI needs more than ever is better talent, and some charisma to go with it! You’ve got to care about these people.I thought he was gorgeous. Now that he has grown waaaay past the age where he (and others his age) should still be trying to be "Rock" stars, and this has to be said for many out there today, …. age has not been kind to them…… or maybe it’s what they possibly have either ingested, injected or inhaled over the years. However, that being said, I love Arrowsmith’s music, and I think Steven’s daughter, Liv Tyler, is an absolute beauty, and looks very much like her father when he was her age.
I was watching Extra last night and they said Jennifer Lopez is being courted by both American Idol and Simon Cowel’s new show and don’t know which one she’ll be on.
I also read that Steven Tyler and Harry Connick Jr. are among the list of those to replace Simon. I hope they go with Harry, I think he’d be great. When he was on as mentor this past season he was honest, had a sense of humor and very easy on the eyes.
I’m glad Kara won’t be coming back as she was just annoying and Randy could go too in my opinion. I’m getting tired of the same old phrases coming from him. A whole new panel of judges might be what the show needs to bring the ratings back up BUT maybe keeping Randy is a way to mix the old and new.
I’m still going to miss Simon and his insults.
Ellen hurt the contastants feelings?? HUH? She barely said anything different from Randy! If she did it still very similiar!! She was no meaner than either Randy or Kara and wait til I stil Jumping up and down that Kara wont be coming back!! YIPEE!! They should have dropped her the frist season, IMHO. I dont think Ellen really "fit" in with the other judges. I wouldnt mind Harry Connick, or Steven Tyler. Personally I think either would be great judges and give good advice. As for Jennifer Lopez, um I guess I’ll have to wait and see, she’s not my favorite, but I think she maybe good. They actually might give more info then "YO-YO-YO- You were just alittle pitchy dog"! LMAO!
It seems AI’s original producer (now with SYTYCD) Nigel Lythgoe is returning to take over at the helm of AI.
I also heard some rumblings that Paula Abdul might return.
Another rumor is Jennifer Lopez demanded to be the only female judge on AI’s panel which is why Kara was let go. Don’t know how this might affect Paula’s return.
One can only hope this shakeup will improve the listing AI ship.I absolutely love his critique on So You Think You Can Dance and wonder what would make him leave such a successful show where he is absolutely in charge.
