Let me first say this is JUST MY OPINION – so keep the knives in the drawer LOL
I love Peter and for me Bo/Hope will always be the end all be all for me. I was a kid when there was Bo w/o a Hope and it always seemed odd to me. It was even MORE odd when KA was back and it was RRK. When Peter came back as Bo then all seemed right with the world (the DOOL world.)
Okay – so here we are with Aiden. I think Daniel is VERY charming as Aiden – and the storyline initially was great. We had some bickering, romance, intrigue etc. But if we are all being honest here the whole Aiden/Hope story has been a a snooze for quite a while – and that is NOT the new writers, that was just the old writers not knowing what the heck to do with these two. It started off strong but lost steam.
I know a lot of you take issue with how Peter handled things. He wanted more money – they showed him the door. He "toyed" with the fans a bit and strung it along. My take on that is we are in a world of social media and people use those to leverage their own cause. This is his cause – he’s an actor. Was it a little obnoxious? Sure. But I believe that played a large part in his return. He might have came back but maybe just for a cameo appearance. If we as fans can voice our concerns to the show about what we like and what we don’t like then why can’t an actor leverage those same fans to help him on his behalf? I dunno – seems a bit double sided to me.
So with that said I’m okay with Aiden being written this way to make room for Bo. Does it suck for the character of Aiden? Sure. Is it a shame that Daniel is being wasted b/c he is so talented – yup. But this is a soap and they can remedy this quickly & that is what they are doing. We don’t need a triangle – and NO ONE would believe a triangle where HOPE was torn. Nope. I certainly wouldn’t.
Regardless this SL is bringing up some great dialogue and that is great b/c it’s getting us talking (albeit – some for the wrong reasons.) I’ll end with saying this….. Ali quit the biggest loser so could she be making room for a full time return to DOOL?!? How many Hallmark movies can she do? LOL
that in the middle of Aiden/Hope’s romance it began to drag. But recently for me it was revived.
As for Aiden’s exit to make room for Bo, I could accept it (but maybe not like it) if PR were staying. But if as rumored he signed on for a short run then what’s the point of ruining Hope and Aiden to only put a final period on Bo and Hope? And then what – Hope and Rafe?I’m not sure why people can’t separate the actor from the character. How can anyone not want Bo back?? This is a couple with a 30+ year history and despite Hope thinking he abandoned her, you can clearly see whenever she talks about him that she hasn’t stopped loving him. Aiden was ok, and a good way to have her move on, but he was never going to be "it" for Hope. Whether it was Peter or a dreaded recast, Bo & Hope were always going to be the end game. I, for one, can’t wait for him to be back!!
I think when they kept dragging out the bo undercover coming home/not coming home thing it wore thin, for me and Hope. I got over Bo and Hope and so did she. The fact that she took her time and waited makes it all the better. And I don’t think their relationship secret seemed boring to me. The storyline yes but their chemistry worked for me all the time. I’m all fir bringing the romance back to DOOL but I would like Aiden to be part of it.
I began watching DOOL just a couple of weeks after its debut nearly fifty years ago. Bob and Hope have always been my favorite couple, with Doug and Julie a close second. I’ll be happy to see Bo (Peter Reckell) back on the show, if just for a short time.

And then even when Bo and Hope reunited something had died for me. It just wasn’t the same and even Hope said at some point she no longer felt their special connection. I blame the writers for, much like John and Marlena, ruining this pairing I so loved. And now if Bo is only going to come back for a few months how is their relationship going to be rekindled? And if not, I can only see Bo’s return as a closure.
separating the actor from the character at all. The character has been gone so long that most of us just don’t care anymore. And that has nothing to do with Peter himself. However, on the other side of the coin, I have lost all respect for Peter because of the way he handled this whole thing.
So, IMO, I don’t want Peter back and I don’t want Bo back. I like Aiden…a lot…so let’s get this couple on the road to another super couple. And please, please, please, don’t ruin Aiden for us already. I am a little fearful about where this thing with Rafe is going. Although I think I’d enjoy them as a pair, let’s leave things status quo for now.
I’m now wondering if he is working for someone who may be holding Bo prisoner. My guess is Andre has Bo and it will be Steve to his rescue. I don’t like it either. I simply do not believe Aiden does not love Hope and that suddenly he’s after her money or any other sorry excuse to turn him dark. He’s just been thrown to the wolves in favor of returning Peter to a story that will probably see him leave again or be killed off, so yes I see a pairing of Hope and Rafe down the road, which, I must say, I don’t mind at all. Shame though, Daniel Cosgrove was used, abused and then kicked to the curb like that. Bah!
it was Tony coming back (from the grave) rather than Andre. But always a pleasure to see TP who is definitely one of a kind.
Back in the day, Bo and Hope were my favorite couple. I loved them! However, with Peter leaving the show and Bo being gone so long, I didn’t want to see him come back now. And I liked Aiden and Hope together. But I have to say, I was pretty excited today to see Steve and a glimpse of Bo! He better have a darn good reason for being gone!!
I agree. Love love TP but wish Tony was back instead of Andre. Tony was a troubled soul but not a bad an. Andre was the opposite. I could root for Tony not so much for Andre
You aare right, things really changed when Zack died. Especailly because Bo seemed to take Chelsea’s part over the dath.
It is not uncommon for marriages to become strained when there is a death of a child. Adding Carly to the mix didn’t help. Also his constant relationship with Billie put a straind on his life with Hope.
I just don’t like what Bo has become and really don’t want to see Hope reunite with him
I disagree when you say "most of us" don’t care anymore. I don’t believe that’s the case. KA was gone from the show for years too (longer than Peter was this time around I believe) – and everyone was OVER THE MOON about Bo & Billie at the time. Then BAM – KA returns (Gina/Hope) and everyone was THRILLED she was back. I think MOST people are just thinking about Peter and not Bo. I’ll check back with you in a few months Bon
Btw – your hurricane post had me cracking up. I HATE that too "We interrupt this program to tell you……well, nothing. Cuz we don’t have any new information." So ridic. In NYC we see about it too – and they make a big deal here as well. Totally agree wit you.
and just like in Caroline’s dream, in some dark, dingy, very dirty place. I did not want Bo to return, but now that I know Aiden is up to no good and planning to take Hope for some sort of con, I was very glad to get that quick view of what I assume was Bo at the end; not so much because I love Bo rescue, and I think the story will be really entertaining, and with Steve and perhaps John in the hunt, I’m more anxious about Bo’s return. Of course, if he winds up dead, that will be a definite sign that his return was simply for closure, but in the meantime we could be in for a lot of drama and action if written and acted well. So, as the saying goes, I’m ready to "buckle up" and enjoy the heck out of what is so far promising to return DOOL to yesteryear!!
over the years, Bo hasn’t exactly been the epitome of a faithful husband or soul mate. Look at how many women he was involved with yet Hope was only with someone else AS someone else or when she thought there was no longer any hope for her with Bo.
So I think this time around it’s going to be different and, again disagreeing with TFlo disagreeing with me, I still think most people don’t care about Bo returning. If you just go by comments here, I’d say overwhelmingly they don’t care. (Geeze, I sure wish Jenn would get the poll feature here fixed and up and running, I’ve got several polls in mind.)
