Watching EJ take a swig of wine during Arianna’s memorial service just seemed really inappropriate. Why would they have a service for her there? I know she worked there…but who the heck has a memorial service at their workplace?

but the rest of us live in the real world where a church or funeral home has the memorial service – then afterwards (especially in Ireland) then you go to the pub and toast the dearly departed.
I think they had a memorial somewhere that was intimate and just for family, but this was more open for friends and such. I can buy it. I think it’s just an Irish thing, saying a farewell.
THe funderal was held in her home town. Sami arranged for this tribute and it is an Irish tradition to have a gathering at a pub.
but why the heck did Sami arrange the tribute? Still looking for the tape? For Rafe? Sami is the biggest friggin’ hypocrite on the planet! She is down to her last two nickels with me.
the Brady’s are Irish….they were only her employers/friends. Arianna Hernandez isn’t exactly a good ole’ Irish name
from the funeral just before the memorial. That’s when Sami asked about his mother (who was conspicously absent from the memorial) and how she was doing. I guess this was just something Sami wanted to do for Rafe. I will admit a pub doesn’t seem to be such an appropriate place though. There IS a Catholic church in Salem.
so some sort of private service was held, and what was done at the pub was a wake. I don’t think Sami was being hypocritical at all. She asked Rafe if she could help and she went about arranging the memorial at the Pub because Arianna did work there and she invited the people who best knew Arianna to share their fondest memories of her. I thought she was being very supportive of Rafe and Gabi and the Pub was the perfect place to hold this very traditional memorial, especially since Arianna worked there. I don’t think she had the tape or anything else on her mind when she planned it other than to show Rafe and Gabi that there were many Salemites who thought very highly of Arianna.
BUDGET! lol They can’t afford to keep recreating places that they won’t use for more than a short scene is my guess.
the Pub I can see why they would hold it there. Guess this means though, no one will ever get married or Christened or buried at the church again since it’s so much cheaper to put up the fake flowers and trees and call it a park or cemetery.
am i the only one who thinks that the reason why the writers didn’t write her memorial scene to be in an actual church/funeral home, is because they don’t have that set anymore? It was probably cheaper to just have it on the Brady Pub set/save money… lol Just a thought.
