but why in the world would Julie think that Melanie, who had been missing for what, about a month if not longer, would know about Nick having a parole hearing? AND why in the world would she possibly think she would be okay with it?  I know, just Julie being Julie.

I hear you were kidnapped for months, lived in an underground tunnel with all kinds of nasty gasses and survived through several explosions and cave-ins.

So, now that you’ve had one good day above ground, would you be a dear and testify that they let the guy go who tried to kill you a few years ago?  Thank you sweety!  You’re so pretty!

The thing that sticks in my mind is about the setup with Lucas saying Julie "sounded kind of weird" in her message.

I’m wondering if they’re setting up some sort of argument between Julie and Maggie. Did I imagine a sneer when Julie mentioned Maggie touting about how Melanie has changed?

And maaaaaybee I’m stretching it here but when Julie mentioned that the family is "suffering" I took that to mean there are so few Horton’s on the show anymore. But that might be because I’ve been thinking that.

I’m loving the show right now and how it’s mixing so many characters into the stories.

aside from the fact that Julie spent little to no time with Nick Fallon, or his storyline for that matter, for her to now be all gung-ho about Nick’s release just boggles my mind.  However, that being said, everyone who is familiar with Nick’s and Mel’s history should also realize that not only did Nick sign over the rights of his alternative fuel project to Mel because he truly loved her and wanted to protect her future, but he felt sure he was going to get a life sentence for Killing Trent.  During his sentencing, Maggie and Melanie both gave heartfelt testimonies on Nick’s behalf.  As a result, though, it was Mel’s testimony, forgiving Nick and praising him to the judge that persuaded the judge to re-assess her decision on a life sentence, and Nick received a sentence of two to five years, although with good behavior Nick would be eligible for parole in eighteen months. Nick thanked Melanie for her testimony and asked Max and Chelsea to keep his project out of the wrong hands. He also shared one last emotional good-bye with his first love, Chelsea.  Taking all this into consideration, I do remember that Maggie, Chelsea, Melanie, Max, Philip, and a few others were all at Nick’s sentencing, but, JULIE, …. nowhere in sight.  I think there’s going to be a lot more to this than we’re even contemplating at this point.

I had kind of forgotten all that about Nick and Melanie to be honest. It will be interesting to see how this all plays out. but I stil think it was odd that it wouldn’t occur to her that Mel hadn’t been receiving mail for quite some time, LOL.

was there when the explosions happened and knows first-hand how devastating the aftermath was, even if she didn’t know at the time that Mel was stuck in the tunnels with a psycho.  So, for me, yes, that was sort of a dumb lead-in for her to say why she felt Mel should know about the parole hearing.  Then she goes to the hospital on Melanie’s first day back to work in an attempt to further her cause.  I’m sure that rocked Melanie’s world, right after the disaster she went through in the tunnels.  I’m guess what I’m sort of complaining more about is that I’m just not used to Julie acting so unconsciously or thoughtlessly.  She’s usually the one with her head on straight.

becuse of the storm (satallite dish, ya know) so didn’t see what happened.

But, boy, Nick sure looks tough/angry.  I wonder if they’re going to make him into a bad guy now.
