Just read on Days Cafe that John is arrested for embezzlement
Maybe Stefano had charges filed because of what he did with DiMera Enterprises when he had no memories and took over the mansion and everything else.
would have documentation when he took the DiMera and DeMansion, but didn’t EJ do the same thing to Stefi at once time a couple of years back? Stefano balked but never really did anything about it but rant and rave…
I could see the FBI being involved and not the SPD since it isn’t a local matter but Rafe isn’t FBI anymore so no idea why they contacted him in the first place.
I was thinking the same thing. Roman certainly would have known. Also wouldn’t the mayor be informed especailly cause John is such a well known person in Salem.
Rafe- was FBI maybe he’s still working for them ‘undercover’? But, he should not have been involved given that John is Rafe’s step-father-in-law.
Roman- as head of the police department probably should have been involved too but this is a good friend of his.
Bo and Hope- same issues as Roman.
Abe- as the mayor, he has no reason to know and he’s a long time friend of the suspect.
The other guy that was with Rafe has to be the one in charge of the arrest as he seems to have no connection to John and could be objective in following the arrest proticols.
I believe John would have to have been indicted on a federal issue for him to be arrested that way which would be out of the hands of the local cops. If you noticed EJ, he looked totally surprised at the arrest along with the others. I suspect that this will be a totally new story unrelated to the Dimeras but maybe something to do with the Alice money in and money out. That’s just my guess. John and Marlena knew something was going to happen but didn’t think it would be that fast.
Also, Austin being the one to do the forensic accounting on this case had me curious. Last I knew A/C were living in Switzerland so why would the US government being employing him over there to do their work? hmmm
I’m ready to sit back and enjoy the show to see where all these things go!
I figured Austin and Carrie were back in the U.S. but we never heard about it. I’m going that way because of Austin working on this case as well as Carrie being a defense attorney and Abe suddenly wanting her to be a prosecutor. Wouldn’t she have to pass the bar in the area she lived in.
I read that John’s law team deserts him and Carrie offers to defend him. Now I know why it was important that they had to keep pointing out that she’s a defense attorney. This will put a strain on Carrie and Austin since she’s defending John and Austin could be called to testify against him.
nothing is going to be explained in the first week. These are the beginnings of "new" stories, and I feel certain that, with a little patience, the suspense involved in answering the who, what, when, where, why and how behind the storylines themselves will be worth the wait.

Why would Roman, BO, or Abe know about a federal case. I highly doubt local police or government are ever notified of federal cases.
The guy with Rafe is the one in charge of the case and he is FBI, he has been on the show before and he is an FBI agent friend of Rafe. I imagine he contacted Rafe knowing it was his family and asked for his help with the arrest to make it easier on the family.
I love the beginning of these SLs and I am sure we will get more details as this party ends and we get into the meet of the stories. I am thinking Monday is the last day of the party (which I was thinking 5 to 6 days would be perfect to start these SLs during the party) and we will start to get more into these SLs. I love how these are intertwined into each other, kind of like the old days.
have a long-standing dislike for each other and will only work together when it involves something that involves both of them and even then, one will be in charge over the other. I doesn’t surprise me at all that, if it is a federal case, the Salem cops would know nothing whatsoever about it. Rafe being a former FBI agent was probably told because he still has friends there.
And it’s beginnin to come together, John’s new Black Financial Services, Austin being a forensic accountant (who could very likely have been working on this for the FBI before they came to Salem), and Carrie as an attorney, although it’ll be awhile before she can practice law there because she’ll have to pass the bar first and that’s only given, what, once a month? Austin would also have to be licensed in that state (whatever state Salem is in) too.
As to Carrie defending John if Austin is working for the FBI against him, I can’t see that happening. That’s way too much negative conflict.
I still don’t see how the FBI could have ordered Rafe to arrest John without Rafe’s superiors at the SPD knowing anything about it.
I think Salem accepts anyone from any state or country to practice law. Remember EJ was suddenly revealed to be a lawyer and practicing. When did he take and pass the bar in Salem much less any state in the country. We also don’t really know where Carrie and Austin have been living. We’re assuming it was Switzerland since that’s where we last heard but it sounds like it’s been someplace in the U.S. since Austin has been working with the FBI.
I also read that Austin will become suspicious of the FBI so not sure where that’s leading.
it’s all true! Carrie must have gone to a US law school and passed the bar for Salem since they appear to be returning. Hey, if she can be a lawyer and Austin a forensic accountant, not to mention John being in charge of retirement pensions, anything is possible! lol I’m in for the ride!
Rafe is EX FBI. he would not have any power to arrest John for federal charges cause he works for the Salem PD. My point is the FBI wouldn’t notify Rafe about the arrest nor would they ask him to make the arrest, since he has no authority. So if he was notified, why not the Salem PD since that is who Rafe works for. I also think that he shouldn’t be involved cause of Sami’s relationship to John.
I am not trying to nitpick with the new writers, but think it is careless to do things that are not logical.
