I am THRILLED to have them back on the show…but one little thing is bothering me. John opens his mouth as if to swallow her when they kiss. It’s a little disgusting if you watch closely, so I just don’t. I love them and don’t want to ruin it!
I know! as much as I love them they are the worst at the love scenes! I wonder if John is a good kisser. I can’t stand watching them make out! But just soooo glad to have them back!!
I was watching the show yesterday and Don came in the room when John and Marlena were talking. Before he walked out he asked if he was always that bad an actor. After he said that I realized he really doesn’t seem as good as he was years ago. Something changed the last time he was on, his voice got softer like he’s whispering all the time and he’s very stiff in his movements. I first contributed it to trying to portray someone who just got out of a wheelchair but then realized he was like this before.
Of course I still like the character of John and hope they let J&M stay for many years.
J&M’s love scenes–too hard to watch. And you described John’s kissing to a T, Cornbread. He does look like he is about to swallow her!
I’m just happy to have them back, and I attribute John’s weaker voice to his illness and the rest to a matter as simple as the ageing process. He’s still a handsome devil in my book. I love watching how deeply they are in love with one another. They couldn’t be sweeter. Yeah, he opens his mouth a little wide when he kisses her, but I would rather watch them kiss than say, for example, Kate and Daniel or Kate and E.J. or Kate and anybody. John and Marlena are more believable to me now than they have ever been.
It’s funny, I don’t like watching love scenes in general, but I liked watching John kiss Marlena in bed the other day. You can really feel the passion between them. And I also find him so sexy and attractive. Watching that scene, I was actually wondering what it would be like to be kissing him like that? Great, I bet! I know I’m probably in the minority on this!
He always spoke like that as far as I can remember. It always drove me crazy and was one of the things that made me not so much a John fan. I always want to yell at him to clear his throat and speak up, LOL
head like a boa constrictor…Never noticed with J&M – just figured it was a little more awkward as it had been two years since they have had the hot scenes together.
Let’s have some fun!: If you got to be in a scene and have a steamy kiss with ANY of the Days actors, who would it be with?
