JJ needs a storyline asap. This lurking, sulking, whiny personality is not going to appeal to too many viewers. He’s too old to be acting like a 12 year old. I know they’ve introduced characters that viewers had to "learn to love" but the way they are writing his character just makes me miserable every second he’s on camera. Maybe it’s the actor? but I doubt it…I really dis-like a guy that old acting so rude and juvenile. It’s almost summer…it’s time to lighten up! Have a BBQ, go swimming, have fun….not start selling drugs and ruining lives.

Just how old is this character supposed to be? He seems to be 16 or 17, I would guess but the way he is acting out makes him seem much younger. Wrecking Daniel’s car, breaking his Ipod, behavior I would attribute to a pre-teen.

for bad behavior – the classic how could Mom move on with another guy – I agree seems a bit juvenile for a 17 yr old. Especially since Jack was hardly around when his son was in boarding school. Add to that Daniel saved his mom’s life and Jenn was often the one who pursued the good doctor.
But then this has long been Days’ MO for teens. I guess we’re in for a long summer on this SL.

Perhaps because he spent less time with Jack, he has an idealized version of him. He also probably regrets or resents that fact that he was away at boarding school instead of with his family. All of this has made him one angry boy. Even though he is 17, he is very naive and young emotionally and acts accordingly.

They need to do something with this character soon. I can’t stand him and honestly, I don’t pay much attention when he is on. He acts like he’s a first grader having a temper tantrum. Breaking Dan’s mp3 and Parker’s train, that’s just mean and hateful. Send this brat back to England or perhaps a military school. I just don’t like the actor or the character.

with his father. Jack Devereaux popped in and out of his family’s lives, many times with no reasonable explanation, so I can see JJ being resentful of his mother moving on with another man, but not for the reasons he is giving. He’s never been allowed to have a true father/son relationship. Either he was gone, or his father was. So, for him to be acting out in this way now is simply another plot minus character based storyline, something these writers seem to do when they insist on returning a character last seen as a small child to a storyline, but don’t know how to truly write for him/her. They have just recently made Freddie (Sonny) interesting, so I assume it will take a month or two, possibly by next sweeps, before I see any reason to invest in Jack, Jr.

One thing I will say about JJ’s story is that his ridiculous side-kick (he who has no name) is probably the worst actor I have seen in quite some time.

That’s one thing about cc, you find out what people’s names are. Yeah, talk about stereo-typing. That’s what you picture when you think delinquent.

Personally, I’m finding JJ to be a big yawn-fest. I hope, like you suggest Patti, that they do something interesting with him soon. Right now his surliness is so blatant I can’t believe Jen, the quintessential mother figure, would let it pass like she has. He needs a good come-to-Jesus discussion.
