Honestly, folks, how could Sami possibly do anything other than accept Kate’s offer? They were down to $46 in their bank account and she’s offered a job with double her income? Of course WE all know that no good can possible come of this but Samatha has always been a act-first-and-think-about-it-later type of person. Of course she’s going to take that job. I can’t imagine too many people who’d do any differently.
Her reasoning for not consulting Rafe is probably the old adage, "It’s easer to ask for forgiveness than permission." Certainly he’s going to forgive her. Doesn’t he always?
As I posted before, I knew Sami would go about it all the wrong way telling Madison she was leaving. She should have gone to Madison first and laid everything out for her. She could very easily have told Madison how much she appreciated the opportunity she had given her, how much she has learned and enjoyed in her short time with Mad World Cosmetics but that she found, because of their financial situation, she could not turn down this opportunity.
She could have said she never would insult Madison by even hinting that she might match that salary which is why she is forced to take Kate’s offer (although I think that may have been what Brady was hinting at when he said she should have talked to him first). And THEN, say she would hope that Madison would be understanding enough that if it didn’t work out at CW, the door to MW might still be open to her.
I think that would have gone much further than, "I quit."
motto. Getting old though – I can see a teenager throwing caution to the wind because they are invinciable, invisible and going to live forever. Sami, for reasons she herself stated, with the hubby not working not working for cash, four children to feed and cloth and put through school (even if two of her baby-daddies are contributing), not to mention the cool apartment rent, latest clothing fashions, and a marriage vow renewal ceremony every six months, well, we just can’t throw caution to the wind any more now can we – because we are No teenybopper anymore now are we Samikins?
I would have to say that Sami is new to the dealings of the corporate world, so it might not have occurred to her to tell Madison of the job offer she got from Kate. There is also the fact that Sami and Madison haven’t been getting along lately, not to mention that Brady had spoken to her several times about her interfenence with him and Maddy. So I am thinking that Sami felt that neither of them would want to hear about this, especially since Madison had already threatened to fire her. As far as leaving the door open–that doesn’t usually work in the corporate world.
As for Rafe, neither of them have been up front about job situations. She wasn’t happy that he was working with Carrie, which she found out from Sarrie not him, so she decided to make the decision alone.
was Kate manipulating Sami that Madison was not a good boss, that she was treating Sami less than a valuable employee, and Sami would do better with someone who would “respect” her talents. I really didn’t see the initial impetus of quitting MadWorld as monetary.
And really, after all Kate has done to destroy Sami over countless years, would $ be enough motivation to throw in with your longtime enemy?I wouldn’t have planned a vow renewal. And she probably didn’t pay for Abe or the use of the square, but she DID buy a new dress and Rafe had a new suit. Stupid… I just can’t like her.
had time for the ink to dry on the hiring contract, how did she afford the champange and Chez Rouge take out food? Did she get an advance from Kate already? Or is she 10K in debt on her credit cards – maybe we should send Sami the phone number of one of those commercials on t.v. on paying back your creditors?
Maybe Sami and Madison have been having the uncomfortable conversations where Kate could hear them so Kate would offer Sami a job and Sami would take the job and find out everything about Countess W and then she could go back to Mad World with all of Kate’s secrets and she and Madison would win. Whew!
smart to do something like that – (Maddison may be)…and besides, if Sami did do that, she would be lying to her entire family, husband and what-ever friends she may have left yet once again. She out and out stated to everyone that she took a new job for the money. Funny thing is that apparently Sami will spend whatever little she has ($46 bucks in a check book???) on champagne and Chez Rouze take out before making sure her children’s college funds, home, etc., is paid for. Not very big in the brains department is Sami…I think you are correct about Sami – Macrr.
that would be sooo awsome. But I don’t think our writers could possibily come up with something that creative. That’d make a GREAT storyline and, for once, actually make Kate suffer a little.
do you know how many people like that are out there? It’s amazing how some couples will spend their last dollar friviously when they don’t know where their next rent payment, etc. is coming from? I know, I have one in the family.
I don’t know where he came from because the rest of our family are all VERY financially responsible but he doesn’t seem to give it a thought. (It’s just very fortunate he makes a good living…but that wasn’t always the case.) The unfortunate thing is he married someone as bad as he is. <sigh>
Are we in the same family? I have a SIL & BIL the same way. Filed bankruptcy TWICE and are on their way there again. He makes close to $100,000 a year and they’re still behind on mortgage and other bills. YET SHE hasn’t worked in 30 years and complaining that she doesn’t qualify for SSDI, she gets her nails (gel or acrylic on both fingers and toes) done every few weeks, they go out to eat several times a week and she’s always showing us something new she bought.
is after every bad move she makes she is shown having a bit of guilt (no doubt her shoot first, ask questions later mentality) but that’s as far as it goes. I absolutely detest it when people think their actions can be excused by simply saying “that’s the way I am, take it or leave it.” In other words they make no effort to change.
I would love it, as Scarlett suggested, that Sami joined Kate to actually destroy her. Wouldn’t that be refreshing!
