Geez….could Melanie be any more whiny and pathetic with Maggie? "I need you". "Now you’re going to be with Chloe". I can’t believe she read those lines with a straight face—she’s old enough to be married and get pregnant…old enough to have a career and she’s demanding Maggie’s attention?  I was embarassed for her during that scene.  Seems like it would have been more appropriate dialogue for Ciera and Hope.

to Mel between Euope and US? There she was a wily streetwise petty thief; here she turns into a whiney wuss who needs everyone to feel sorry for her.

good point! She was an internet "party girl" who had been around the block a time or two…now she is a wimp! She clings to Maggie like a little girl…weird.

My guess is that when she was in Europe she was all alone, had no one to depend on for anything, and whatever she wanted had to be gotten through her own wiles.  But when she came to Salem, all of a sudden she had a mother, father, friends, and a love interest.  Unconsciously, she probably just let everything go and became dependent on all these people.  Sorta like letting go a big sigh of relief.  Just a thought.

I have to say that watching Mel the other day, I realized she actually is a very good actor.  Her quirks and expressions may be annoying to some but they certainly give a lot of realism and color to her interpretation of the role.  I’m probably not putting this well but, in spite of my feelings for her, I think she’s doing a exemplary job.

I little kid finding out she’s getting a new sibling and throwing a hissy fit because now she has to share mommy with the new baby. OMG!!! Who wrote that crap? They ought to be fired. Sorry, but no adult would even utter those words. I totally agree with you cornbread. I don’t know how she kept a strait face during that scene.

one minute I’m ready to compliment her in her scenes, like with Brady and her comedic banter with Victor, and then in the next scenes with Maggie, I flip to wanting to turn her over my knee and spank her like the naughty, spoiled little brat she appears to be.  I wish TPTB as well as Molly would realize how much more entertaining she is when she "acts" instead of "acting out."

While her character annoys me, I think she is a very good actress, often putting in comedic touches to scenes seemingly on her own.  She can pull faces at times but I think with some more experience she will learn to be more subtle.
