I don’t know if they want us to believe that E.J. has always just wanted his children for his purposes and not from real parental love..E.J. has always had a possessiveness and bad temper, but now he shows little care that his baby is running a feaver. He didn’t even rush to her with medicine she needed. He is one cold cad. When Sami finds out that he was behind all this, I hope she learns about that event. E.J. is no better than Stephanio, maybe worse. I think the old man would have rushed to Sydney’s side and brought in the best baby doctor to see her. O.K., he wasn’t good to his grown children, but he has a heart for babies. E.J. has no heart at all.

Yes I have.  Also on Thursday when Anna called him and put Sydney on the phone when she was saying "Da da" he wasn’t even listening.

sociopath?  I mean besides him being a really bad dude with all the things he’s done over the few short years he’s been in Salem.  The main characteristic of a sociopath is a blatent disregard for the rights or feelings of others.  Think that describes EJ to a "T".

Even Victor and Stefano have shed tears and care about their family members (if no one else).  I am a big EJ fan but I do recognize that he’s not really redeemable in the true sense.  I think he only wants Sydney as another heir and as a pawn to cause havoc with Sami and ilk.

Ya know, I’ve always been a huge EJ fan.  Love his bad guy side and really, ultimately, wanted to see him with Sami.  But, honestly, my mind is quickly changing.  I don’t see that good side struggle anymore.  He used to fight his darker side and I liked that about him.  Reminded me of Jack a bit.  But, now, he’s just out to hurt anyone and everyone.  I really don’t like that he and Sami are bonding anymore, because I know it’s all meant to hurt her.  I want to see Sami with Rafe and see that relationship blossom.  He’s always had her best interests at heart and I don’t know if anyone has ever been like that with her before.  Can’t believe I’m saying this, but EJ has either got to find some of that compassion he used to have or I really don’t want to see him anymore.  I hope Arianna uses her brain and starts questioning his wild, out-of-control behavior.  Someone needs to make him wake-up and get over himself.

You’re right, all he does is manipulate and use people.  I think I love Rafe so much because of his pure motives.  When he said that even if getting Sydney back would cause Ej and Sami to bond, he still would do the right thing by Sydney and the right thing by Sami.  He’s a truly good guy who would do the right thing for the sake of doing the right thing, even if it cost him personally.

and I know I’ll be in the minority here, but it’s made him less attractive to me.  They’ve even given him the greasy, oily hairstyle again, which only gives him even more of a sinister appearance.  Too bad, because he’s a great looking guy, but I’m finding him less handsome these days.

He’s just showing his true colors. I hope that this all comes out but it probably won’t and EJ will have weaseled his way into Sami’s life.

Even though Rafe deserves better than Sami, they are very good together.

his children are his legacy and there for HIM, not the other way around, and if they disappoint him in any way or are ‘inconvenient’ then the love disappears at least temporarily?   Think of how Stefano was with Lexie and Tony and Benjy: everything was fine when they did what he wanted, when he wanted it but they were exhiled/disinherited etc. when they didn’t.   EJ has the same ‘conditional’ love that his father does.

First of all, I disagree that he’s been cold toward Sydney.  How much more loving and caring could a father be than when he was holding her when she was teething and Anna couldn’t console her?  I though those scenes were very touching and heartwarming.

However, the writers seem to write the moods for both Stefano and EJ at the whim of the wind…or, maybe based on what they had for breakfast, or possibly even what color socks they happen to be wearing that day.

When he thought Sydney was not his blood he absolutely rejected her and abandoned her along with Nicole, then as soon as he learned he was Sydney’s birth father he took full control of her, with no thought of what she needs.  Sydney has been completely cut off from those who loved her unconditionally, like Nicole and Sami. And as bad a father as Stefano is he does have a soft spot for babies. But Stefano’s relationship with his grown children is indeed totally conditional and EJ will be worse- he is like ice inside. Anna is starting to see more of that side and I suspect she is going to turn on EJ to get that baby back to Sami.

because I read where he now is going to fake her death just so that he can keep control of the situation.  What a piece of work he is.  He’s much worse than Stefano, IMO.  I just wish they would write Stefano the way he used to be (without the sci-fi actions, of course), because they have turned him into a mere shadow of what he once was.  E.J. would never get away with what he is doing if they brought the old Phoenix back.  Joe M. can’t be pleased, I would think.

about EJ being worse than Stefano.  Have you forgotten that he imprisioned his own daughter in an underground cave?  And marooned his son (Tony) on an island for twenty-five years!  AND, he had his own son (Benji) killed?  You can’t get much colder than that.

Yes, he’s definitely VERY evil where it pertains to Sami but I think he treats Sydney with much love and affection.  As for taking her away from her mother, she doesn’t even know Sami yet so I don’t think you can count that.

I suppose when I watch the way Stefano is being written today, it’s hard to perceive just how evil he truly was.  I guess I just wish he was using a much firmer hand when it comes to E.J.  Right now, at least to me, he is almost laughable the way he has allowed E.J. to be  the "boss" and tolerate his repugnant attitude toward Stefano, even to the extent of having him evicted from his own home.  I just don’t see that happening, but I do wish Stefano would take off the blinders and soft-padded gloves and put that arrogant piece of *hit in his place, starting with having him followed everywhere he goes, since he already suspects that E.J. has Sydney anyway.  I can understand Roman and company not doing this, because they don’t have a clue (not that they ever do), but Stefano does.  Maybe that’s why he was so nonchalant today when he read the eviction notice; maybe he already knows.
