I’m very glad that they didn’t drag out her telling Will. It was nice to see her go directly to him. I wish she’d do the same with Rafe.
But I don’t know what’s going to happen when Nick finds out, even though this happened before he even came into the picture. I have a bad feeling about his future. He just has too much of a dark cloud hanging over him. I don’t think it’s going to be pretty.
I don’t know. With Nick’s mind set on gays, finding out that Will had sex with Gabi, will be another wedge in his opinion of gays. I don’t know how they plan to play this out, but if Gabi decides not to keep the baby, another issue I don’t recall being a story line on DOL, this could turn into a real burner. IMHO.
things that I like about the way Days is handling Gabi and Will’s "situation." Like you said, Bonbon, it’s great that they didn’t drag it out–she told him she was pregnant and then immediately told him that he was the father. Also, I like the fact that the show isn’t making this a "who’s the daddy" storyline. If they continue the storyline in this vein, it can be a different way than they have handled pregnancies in the past. The fact that Will is gay and that Gabi already has a boyfriend (who is a loose cannon in my opinion) add new elements to what could have become a tired storyline.
Twice. Mia gave up her baby to Nicole and Mimi had an abortion…which she was severly chastized for. Whoever was writing at the time was very obviously anti-abortion because she got lambasted by everybody and ending up losing Rex because of it. I don’t know if it was JRK writing at the time but he must have been Catholic because he turned every character on the show Catholic. All the Hortons and Marlena were previously Protestant but he turned them all Catholic. (Maybe Salem was having a wholesale conversion!)
and telling Will right off the bat was a pleasant surprise. That, plus the fact that Will is obviously going to stand by Gabi by admitting that it’s "their" problem to solve, not just Gabi’s alone. I do think Will wasn’t considering the baby as a problem, rather how they are going to tell their significant others that they are having a baby with someone else. I’m thinking Sami will have more of a problem with it than Rafe or Lucas. She’s going to be between a rock and a hard place once they find out; but, in her defense, she is following Gabi’s request for her not to tell Rafe, so he can’t say she lied to him; she just chose not to betray Gabi’s insistence that she not tell anyone. And so I hope she continues to hold her ground, because it’s not her secret to tell…it’s Gabi’s and Will’s. As far as Nick and Sonny, I can’t help but feel that Sonny will be way more accepting than Nick, who already has displayed homophobic tendencies toward Will and Sonny, and now he’s going to have to face the fact that his new love is pregnant by his gay cousin. I’m looking forward to how this will all turn out, but I have a feeling Gabi will want to keep her baby, causing even further fear from what Chad will do once the truth comes out. Makes more sense, since we know how much Chad hates Gabi and blames her for his unhappiness.
mind to think of how Sami and Rafe will be related to this baby–Rafe will be it’s uncle/step grandfather and Sami will be it’s grandmother/step aunt (right??). Then there’s the fact that Gabi was once Will’s step aunt.
Gabi would try to pawn this kid off as Nick’s? It would be tough seeing she’s almost 3 months along, but Days has gone that route before.
I thought Gabi was going to chicken out and not tell Will after seeing him and Sonny together, so I was very glad that she did. I think this will be an interesting story with all the different dynamics. So now Sami is keeping a secret from Rafe, because Gabi asked her to – kind of the same thing as Nicole asking Rafe not to share her secret. Hmmm wonder if Sami will consider that,. Probably not!
about Sami. I think Sami will be more accepting than Rafe (not sure about Lucas) because she’s been there, done that. She also already knows Gabby is pregnant so the only surprise will be that it’s Will’s whereas Rafe is going to get a double whammy…she’s pregnant AND it’s Wills.
Yes, she is keeping a secret from Rafe because Gabby asked her to, but, how is that any different than Rafe keeping a secret from Sami because Nicole asked him to? Same dif IMO. I don’t see how she can justify it.
While I agree it’s similar I doubt Sami will see it that way. She will see respecting Gabbi’s confidence as way more important than respecting Nicole’s. Plus Rafe told Carrie about Nicole. That means he specifically kept it from Sami on purpose.
Wow, talk about karma!!! This little "secret" is exactly what Rafe did to Sami that she couldn’t get past. Actually, it is more complicated since Gabi is Rafe’s sister. Now maybe she can have sympathy towards Rafe’s dilemma.
I am not sure how Lucas will react. Yes, he will be shocked but maybe a little happy. Sami might have mixed feelings. I hope Nick takes it well and is supportive.
I don’t see this as the same or similar to Rafe keeping Nicole’s secret. Sami’s just not telling Rafe his sister is pregnant. Rafe out and out lied to Sami by saying Nicole’s baby was was his even though Sami asked him over and over if it was true.
