Ok, he couldn’t be with Nicole untill they married because of his love for the church.

Yet here he is shagging Serena. I don’t relly think she is into him, she just wants the elephant.

He is a lousy judge of character– at least with Nicole what yousee is what you get!!!

I guess his morality went right out the window with his collar. He doesn’t seem to be conflicted about jumping in the sack at all.

Now, as to this elephant? Who is the heck is this Navidad and what does she want the elephant for. Does she know Eric or is it all about the elephant? I hope she’s not another former lover of his. Contraband in the knick-knack is such an old, over-used cliché. Hopefully they can come up with something better than that.

And how many more times do we have to hear Eric say upon finding Serena rummaging through his apartment looking for the elephant, “Is something wrong?” “What is the matter?” “I can tell something is bothering you.” Geeze, Eric, get a clue.

And I am still not believing Serena is willing to hurt Eric for whatever reason lies within, around, or anything else having to do with that ugly elephant.  Just get it over with.  I think she does care for Eric; she told this Navidad person on the phone that she would get the elephant but wanted to be sure Eric would not be hurt.  The woman even told her there was no guarantee of that, so if she didn’t want to see him hurt, she’d better get it done now!!!  I’m glad I was right in that Serena was was being forced, and it’s clear to me that she does care for him romanticallly, and whether anyone wants to accept it or not, they do have history.  Otherwise, why in the world would she even care what happened so long as she got what was required of her.  The idea that Eric has found that he can once again "perform" in the bedroom doesn’t bother me at all.  They were lovers at one time, and Nicole’s betrayal and all that it entails is still too fresh in everyone’s mind to look past it, so I can see why Eric would seem hypicritical where she’s concerned.  I just do not happen to see it that way.  I still believe Serena has real feelings for Eric but I can see where people would have to see it to believe it.  So please writers, let’s get this moving.  I do not want to see Serena and Eric become snoozeworthy, and that seems to be the track this stupid elephant storyline is taking.

when Eric finds out that Serena was using their past relationship to get that elephant back will he drop her like a hot potato the way he did Nicole? Because in the grander scheme of things Serena only came to Salem and rekindled their relationship to get that danged elephant even if she did fall for Eric again in the process. So she is/was lying to him and I sure hope that his moral indignation will kick in on Serena just like it did with Nicole because if it doesn’t THEN I will be calling him a hypocrite. Although according to these writers everyone can be forgiven anything as long as your name isn’t Nicole.
And I’m sure Serena will make those crazy google eyes and slanted pouty mouth thing she does and he will forgive her, LOL. Sorry Patti, I know you like the actress but those expressions of hers drive me crazy.

     Patti,

Maybe you have inside info on Serena and her motives, but I am jucgin her on her actions and face gestures. She has been teasing Eric and then pulling away. She really didn’t seem like she wanted a romantic getaway, opting for staying in his apartment. Her mission was getting the elephant, more than being with Eric.

I know you like her, but there is something about her that feels phoney. It also annoys me that Eric can not forgive Nicole when Serena seems so fake to me.

I’m only going on the fact that she seems to be really strong with this woman on the phone that she in no way wants Eric to get hugt, but you and justwondering are both right about that fact that she’s probably going to hurt him more when the real reason she wants to be with him is revealed.  I just think she has no choice in the matter, and the sooner we find out what that is, the quicker this ridiculous s/l will begin to make sense.  Until then, I just can’t believe she doesn’t still have feelings for Eric; maybe not the same or as strong as they were when they were in Africa, but I can’t believe she doesn’t care anything at all about him, and only about that damned elephant.  If at some point Eric becomes endangered by these people, we’ll see where her true loyalty lies.  I just think it’s strange that she feels she can’t tell him about it.  I don’t know, maybe you guys are right and I’m completely wrong about her.  Wouldn’t be the first time!  After all, I love Sami and E.J. and couldn’t stand the whole EJabby s/l; but, alas, Sami and E.J. are long gone (for now anyway), and Abigail still makes my teeth hurt every time she puts on her goody-two-shoes when it comes to her own moral compass!  But, again, that’s just me!  LOL!

last week when she was talking to someone – was it Mel? – and she made a reference to getting involved in something where you couldn’t back out. She said it in a regretful sort of way. So maybe that’s a hint she was somehow coerced?

Dr. Mandrake with Melanie.  I saw that connection as well.  And, yes, these people, whoever they are, know her connection to Eric and know that she is the one who can coax him into getting the artifact before they have to take matters into their own hands (just speculating here – perhaps a smuggling ring).  Maybe they are holding something/one very precious to her as collateral to force her to do this.  I just wish they’d get on with it.
