Wow.  What a show last night!  I absolutely loved it.  I don’t remember enjoying the show so much in a very long time.  The Broadway music was terrific!  I especially loved the music from Chicago danced by JR and Karina.  And Ricki was great too.  Most of the songs fit the style of the dance.  If only they would always do that as it would make the show so much more enjoyable!

The ones that weren’t so good in my opinion were Chaz, Rob, and Hope.  I think Hope was the worst last night.  She just clomps around the dance floor.  I see no grace or femininity in her at all.  The rumba was just awful and Len was right to criticize it.  Len even said something to the effect that he knows she works hard and appreciates the effort.  And Max!  What an ego!!!!! I never cared for him much and he proved why last night.  Did you see when he said to Brooke "I am the show.  I made this show what it is."  Couldn’t even believe he said it!  I thought I heard wrong.  I was watching the pros in the background and saw the disbelief in Cheryl’s and Kim’s faces.  And I think Derek was laughing.  Does anyone know what Max said to Len after Len said he’s been doing this job for almost 50 years?  I know that Carrie Ann told Max that whatever he said was disrespectful.  I’ll have to watch it again tonight.

Also, I thought Kristin Chenowith was fantastic!  And Brooke seemed so much more comfortable in her interviewing.  She seems to have loosened up and I enjoyed her last night.

Also, forgot to mention, I thought Lacey looked mad.  I know she wasn’t pleased with Chaz in rehearsals but she even seemed mad at the judges.  And she certainly wasn’t happy in the interview after the dance.  Maybe she’s just had enough this season with trying to teach Chaz and wants to be voted off.

MK, what he said to Len was, "Maybe it’s time to leave."  Yes, it was disrespectful but I can’t blame him.  Len just plain doesn’t like Maks and it’s very apparent in his comments to his dancers.  And it’s not just this season either.  I kind of give Maks credit for speaking up but he could have used a little more tact in his words.  I just hope there isn’t any serious fallout over this.  But I think Maks really cut his throat last night.  Those kind of remarks are things people just don’t forget.  Yes, he has a big ego, but he’s a great dancer, choreographer, teacher, and entertainer, and I’d sure hate to see him go over this.

Sometimes I think the judges are a little too harsh in their criticism.  Bruno’s remark about Chaz looking like a penguin was totally uncalled for.

The judges (particularily Len) are not consistent in what they’re judging.  Sometimes it’s technique, sometimes it’s effort, sometimes it’s entertainment, and sometimes they just show their favoritism.  And Carrie Ann definitely has her favorites.  It’s too bad they can’t all be totally unbiased and limit their judging to strictly the dancing.  Leave the favoritism to the people calling in to vote.

fifty years, Maks said something like:  "Maybe it’s time you leave."  I wasn’t all against Maks for what he said; but, I think he could have been a bit more respectful in the way that he said it.  And as for him saying that "he was the show", I’m wondering if he meant that he’s been so involved from the beginning in the production of the dances.  Maybe I’m giving him a bit too much of a break in this whole situation.  However, having said that, he was right in some of what he was saying.  At least in my humble opinion.

were showing them in practice.  It seemed that she had sort of just gotten to the point that she had done her best and if Chaz was not going to get it then he should be prepared to be voted off.

necessary to make insulting personal remarks about the star dancers by comparing them to something uncomplementary.  Their critiques should be strictly about the dance techniques or the lack thereof.  I think they owe the dancers an apology for their unprofessionalism.  You sure wouldn’t hear them make those kinds of statements to dancers in a professional competition!

when a pro gets stuck with someone who has no talent at all to try week after week to keep them going, knowing they don’t have a chance in hell to ever win.  I think Lacey has gotten stuck with that type too often.  I’ve thought the same thing about Louie too, he never seems to get anybody with any potential.  I’d really like to know how the "stars" are paired up with the pros.  I’d be willing to be it’s not all random.

the seasons, it sure does not look like the luck of the draw.  Someone’s hand is in the final decision making in my opinion.

I’d read that she’s tired of the judges comparing Chaz to animals or making animal references when criticizing his dancing.

I read this morning that Max and Lacey both feel the judges have their favorites every year and their scoring and criticism reflects that.  Lacey said she was proud of Max for saying something they’ve all been thinking.

get those with the most potential to win. I remember one pro, Ashley something and every year she was on, she seemed to be stuck with duds!  I also find it interesting to see that Chad does not seem to be losing any weight each week compared to the other non-pros.  Rikki seems to have lost a lot!  I really hope Karina and JR win this time.  It might be nice if the winning pro can’t return the next season just to give others a chance.

Lacey should talk.  The judges have been pretty easy on Chaz (not talking about the penguin comment which was completely unneccessary).  I think Chaz has received higher scores than he should and I like Chaz and give him a lot of credit for undertaking this but he’s getting higher scoring for his effort not his dancing.

I agree that the judges sometimes do have their favorites and can definitely be inconsistent with the scores reflecting that favoritism.  That absolutely happens and I’ve been upset too in the past at the judges comments/scores.  But Hope is no dancer.  Maybe Len shouldn’t have said that it was her worst dance yet though I agree with him completely on his assessment.  But Maks made matters worse when he said that he IS the show.  Can’t wait for tonight’s show!

I think I heard/read that he’s as heavy as he is because of all the medication he takes because of the surgery.  Hormones?  Steroids?  It’s getting tougher to watch him because he is having such a difficult time.  The last three dances he’s ended with his hands in the air like the "Rocky" night.  Poor Hope – she really is trying, but she’s a jock – but if I had a choice to be able to dance or look athletic, I’d definitely choose look athletic.  Her upper arms are amazing!   I am so rooting for JR!

instead of Monday Night Football, where my pathetic Ravens put me through 3 hours of complete misery and absolute disgust.  I’m such a FANatic, though, I couldn’t desert them, but I am going to try and catch DWTS tonight just to see what happens.  From the terrific posts I see here, I missed a hot hot night, and yes, looks like Maks once again followed his impulse to ‘open mouth, insert foot,’ but I agree that these judges are prejudiced by picking their favorites early on in the competition and not swaying from it.  I do think it’s horrible how they refer to Chaz sometimes with these animal comparisons.  Not funny, especially you, Bruno, who has characterized more than one star by referring to "looked like a ___(insert animal here)____.  It’s hurtful and you may be trying to get a laugh, but it’s not funny to someone like Chaz Bono, whose facial expressions clearly indicate the hurt he feels when referred to like that.  From everyone’s comments, J.R. and Karina did a fabulous job, once again, and I am so rooting for them to win.  He’s amazing to watch, and Karina deserves to win as well.  She is a fabulous instructor, and J.R.’s talent is unbelievable for someone with no dance background whatsoever.  I think it will be between him and Rikki.  Derek Hough, as much as I love him, is another one who always, always pulls a great dance star every season.  Wonder why that is.

I’m rooting for JR all the way as well!  Ricki is great too but JR has natural rhythm AND an infectious personality!  I just smile when he dances.  He seems like he’s having the time of his life and really appreciates every second he is on the show.  I’m sure after all he’s been through that he has a deeper appreciation for life and lives each moment to the fullest.  What a truly uplifting, inspirational person.
