I really, really, really despise this character! Sorry to post an entirely new thread just to say this…….but I no one I know watches Days anymore and I have no other outlet in which to spew my dislike!!!!!!
characters who are no longer liked due to what the writers are doing to them with these disgusting story lines. He was never a favorite of mine, but at least he was watchable. Now….not so much.
I was never a big Daniel fan. He ‘s been around the block way too many times! He really should be able to throw stones since he moved from Kate to CHelsea to Chloe and befor all that a one nighter with Carly. Chloe is young snought to be his daughter. He should know that if she cheats on one husband, he might cheat on other!!!
I’m in the same boat as you. None of my friends watch this abomination so the people here are the only support group I have. I guess it fulfills that certain need we ‘addicts’ have.
But I have to defend Daniel somewhat. He can’t possible be old enough for Chloe to be his daughter. How old do you think he is? In actuality, the actors are 35 and 30. I don’t think he has dated that many women for a man his age. And a one-night stand 20 years ago was the norm rather than the exception.
And, yes, he’s eye candy (that smile could melt an iceberg) but I enjoy his character a lot.
I’ve never been a big fan of Dan, either, but he’s not the reason I haven’t watched DOOL in weeks. I guess either I’m just too busy as of late, or not too interested in DOOL’s latest SLs, to take time out to watch ’em.
out there that Shawn C. was in his 40s. But, I think the actress playing Melanie is only in her early 20s like the actor she is involved with, Chad. But, as you said, still too young to have been a doctor (even Doogie Houser) and had her. I do know a family or 2 from teaching that the kid at 13 had a kid who then had their own at an early teen age. Think 13 +15= 28 yr old granny who was still having kids so you get nieces/nephews who are the same age! Not the norm, TG!
This show does that stuff all the time though- Sami with her child Will and her lover, Ej, who should be younger than Will! Phil should be Will’s age.
To me, Phil married to Melanie is like robbing the cradle! He should be in his 30s at the least along with Chloe. Daniel being in his late 40s dating Chloe in her 30s wouldn’t be that strange. EJ, I can’t figure out how old the show seems to think he is! lol Or, Sami for that matter. I believe Galen G. (Rafe) is late 30s or just turned 40. Some actors can play older or younger (Bo, he never looked his age). The shows rarely play real school age kids as they’d have to pay for an onset tutor.
compared with the likes of Stephanie, Carly, Madeleine, and even Melanie who continues to annoy me with her contorted facial expressions.
I think Dan is eye candy too, and yes his smile will melt any girls heart, I have been seing him more on other TV movies, I watched one last night, it was not a huge part that he played but I think he is a cutie..
Well, Melanie was conceived at a medical convention. So even if Daniel went to it his first year as a doctor, he would have been 26, (4 years college, 4 years med school) and I am not counting 1 year as an intern and 2 as a resident. If you count them he would be 29. Melanie is somewhere between 18-20. Do the math. Chloe is 26 as she and Phil graduated from HS in 2002.
Granted he doesn’t look that old, but if Melanie is 18 then he would be old enough to be Chloe’s dad. I know that ages are not relevant, but remember he did have a fling with Kate. When he first came on he was some sort of surfer play boy who jumped all around the world. It sounded like he got around quite a bit.
Shawn Christian (Daniel) is 44 years old, believe it or not! And the actress who plays Melanie is 22 so the parent/child ages actually ARE believable there. I guess technically he may be a bit old for Chloe (the actress is 29) but who are we to judge!
about 47 (in real age) and Bo (Peter) is 55 or 56? That’s a nine year difference – not so bad as Chloe and Daniel…and yes, to me Daniel looks 44 – he just duns down the age with the surfer dude look – but if you watch in HD – you can see the age, in spite of the makeup, (not that he doesn’t look great).
Stefano is in his mid 70’s and he’s with Kate who’s 57 or 58, so a 17 year age difference…but it doesn’t seem to matter as one gets a bit older as it does with Chloe / Daniel.
Vivi is 70 – and she looks great! Oh my gosh – I just looked up Vivi on Bing/Google and she played in Star Trek – they had a picture of her – I would have never put the two and two together.
because he was celebrating his BD and then his folks passed from what I recall – but the first web site I came to said he was in his mid-70’s so I didn’t rely on my memory (as I’m getting up there in age too).
