According to TV Guide Carly goes to rehab and Sydney Penny (Julia Santos from AMC) will be on for 7 episodes as the doc treating. Also Nicholas returns as part of her therapy and he’s played by 23 year old Cody Longo (Make it or Break It, Brothers and Sisters among other shows) Sydney Penny will start airing August 30th.

My problems with a 23 year old Nicholas.
Unless they rewrite history Kate commited statutory rape when her and Nicholas had their affair.
Nicholas was more than a toddler (I’m thinking around 10 or 11) when he was first on before Carly and Lawrence got married but now he’ll be closer to his YOUNGER sister Melanie’s age.
Nicholas was at the most 13 when he originally left Salem. He came back in his late 20s and did Kate but now he’s younger than he last was?? The site listed below gives Nicky Alamain as being born on October 4, 1984 making him the same year as Sami (27 years old, lol and in Sami’s case with a 16 yr old) and Brady was 1992. Give me a break! It’s like Abby – she was a little kid and then she came back and was the same age that would have matched the year she was born BUT the other characters that were born around her were aged a lot more! "October – Abigail Johanna Deveraux (b. 1992)–in 2005, Abby’s 17th bday was celebrated in April" This comes from a page on the Children of Salem that is no longer on the web. But talk about ridiculous! She was born in October, they changed her birthday month, and then her age is totally warped as she should be Brady’s age.
I think that’s something we just have to accept. Look how many times they changed ShawnD’s age and many others’ also. Although it seems to me they could have made him a little bit older without harming the storyline…closer to 30 anyway.
I wonder how they will get him to return since he was so adament about not wanting to have anything to do with Carly. And will he come back like Dad or like he was the last time he was in Salem?
I can accept them aging a character for the storyline AFTER they’ve been off fof a while but to have them younger than the last they were on which totally negates their history is an insult.
So, I’m supposed to believe that this is Nicholas Alamain, who left in his 30’s and returns in his 20’s LOL …. bad casting, so I don’t know if I can really blame that on Dena, although she was definitely not concerned with a character’s history and had no problems all of her years as HW tearing down a character’s history to suit her ridiculous writing.
Also, I know Kate likes em’ young and dumb, so look out, Chad, the big, bad, evil, sly cougar might be looking after more than your welfare; oh, and tell Abbey not to accept any gift fruit baskets or brownies delivered by messengers, and the next time you bring her into DeMansion, don’t let her eat or drink anything, cause you can be certain momma bear will be watching.
