Jack, Madiaon, Carrie & Austin on their way out with more cuts to come, per Soap Opera Digest!!
if it means Days will stay on the air. I wonder what losing these four will mean for Jennifer, Brady, Rafe, etc., etc.
but Jack surprises and saddens me. I wouldn’t be a bit surprised if these were just the first of many others getting their pink slip to downsize this very large cast. I remember when the reboot was first talked about, Ken Corday said that the show would eventually focus on a much smaller cast of major characters, so I guess this downsize was planned way back then, and now will be the beginning of it. Gee, that will be 5 major players, if you include Lexi. Who’s next, I wonder. I vote for Gabi. I see no use whatsoever for this character. Just please leave John and Marlena alone. I’ve waited too long for their return to see it short-lived. As for Rafe, I’m betting he and Sami aren’t through yet. But, what will they do with Lucas? But, I’m with bluebonnet here, if it means cutting costs and saving DOOL, I’m okay with it, as long as they keep the core families together.
I don’t want Jack to go. The character has come a long way, and I was hoping they would continue to let him develop as a husband/father.
With Lexi gone I wouldn’t miss Abe either. And I bet all the kids will be seen less often than they already are. John and Marlena need to stay as well as Bo and Hope. Sami and EJ are definites…along with Nicole.
Personally, I could do without
Kayla- she’s just waitressing and is a waste of talent
Sonny- going nowhere storylines
Abe- without Lexi, he’s boring
Gabi- just because
Which others do you think could go without ruining the show?
Well it was good to see our old regulars back again I hate to see them leaving already. I liked Madison and Brady until Ian came and she did a 360 degree change in character. bummer
Could see Abe going without Lexie, Theo too and Celeste. Caroline is hardly on, neither is Roman. What about Ian and Daniel? Lucas-did he have any assurances when he returned.??
Im a little sad about Jack. It seems like they were finally making him normal. I liked the mature Jack. Now are they going to pair Jen with Dr. Dan again? They confuse me so much.
As for Austin and Carrie, good riddance. I have not liked either of them since they came back.
as I’ve really come to like her. But where would that leave Brady without Madison? Jack, not so much. It seems there’s just no storyline for him.
I’d lose Abe and Theo, Gabby, Abbie, and Chad. Ian, of course. No need for Lucas and agree about Kayla. I’d really like to see Jen and Daniel reunite. And if they’re trying to cut cast, why did they bring on Celeste and her son? And Stefano’s goon?
It seems like they’ve already gotten rid of all the bit players. We never see any of the DeMansion staff anymore nor any of the hospital workers and the traffic at the mall is almost non-existant now. I don’t know how much more they can cut and still have a show.
and that includes Celeste and her son, which leads me to believe that not only will the cast be reduced, but once the new writers take over, and their story lines are in place, that’s when we’ll begin to see more cuts. I don’t think Celeste or her son will be permanent. DOOL is in place until September 2013, so it will be interesting to see if all of this is worth it, once it gets close to contract renewal time. Maybe one of these new writers will really be a genius and write a character driven story line that won’t involve bed-hopping, breaking up a marriage, being involved in a love triangle, or, God forbid, another WTD/M storyline, and let the character stand on a story line all it’s own, with no man/woman/child/interloper/evil spouse/etc., etc., involved. It cold happen, I suppose.
We complain about the stories and recycling of them over and over but if you were the writer what is a story line you would like to watch ?
I’d read that EJ considers turning over evidence about Stefano to the ISA. I’d love to see that happen and cause a rift between them that can never be repaired.
with Madison gone that Brady will turn to Nicole again, I love them together!! And don’t hit me, but I love Sami and EJ together!! There is so much story for them, a Brady and a DeMira, so much conflict. I know you shouldn’t fall in love with your rapist!!!! But, I still love them together! And Brady makes Nicole a better person.
So they finally start to let Jack grow and he reunites with Jen and poof he’s gone. That sucks! What a waste of time.
