Ravens teammates, coaches and front-office personnel are grieving the loss of cornerback Tray Walker, who passed away Friday evening, March 18, 2016 following a tragic dirt bike accident.  Tray sustained serious head injuries after colliding with an SUV near his hometown just north of Miami Thursday night.  He was taken to the trauma center at Jckson Memorial Hospital where he spent the night in surgery and then in intensive care.  As of Friday afternoon the young man was still fighting for his life.  Walker was drafted by the Ravens in the fourth round last year, and played in eight games during his rookie season.  Many of the young man’s teammates and coaches flew to Florida Friday to give their condolences to Tray’s family in person and have posted heartfelt condolences and messages to them on social media as well.  Tray Walker was 23 years old.

he was not wearing a helmet. Why can’t these guys realize it CAN happen to them?

When I see people (not just guys, girls too) riding down the street in shorts and no helmet, I just cringe thinking what they would look like if they took a spill. And it isn’t always the bikers fault.

Chip and I did therapy visits at the VA hospital in Richmond for 7 years.  We met a couple of young men who were in there because of bike accidents where they were not wearing helmets.

I could never muster up courage to bike ride in traffic. So wrought with danger. RIP TR
