I’m still watching! I’m actually watching the Vegas auditions now, almost done though, I haven’t had many comments yet this year, but I don’t think that we will have as much talent as last year. I don’t really like this cowboy dude. His duet with the black guy was good but I don’t like his voice alone. Looking forward to the first real performance.
still loving the young man from very first audition. But, for a while there I thought they were going to have to call in the CDC. That first girl who got sick seemed to have spread some kind of air-born virus and these kids were dropping like flies.
bust their guts out over these songs? What happened to subtlety – seems everyone has to go through a million embellishments and screeching.
I can remember back in the 50s (yeah, I’m old, I know it) when there were beautiful songs that were sung at a normal volume. Now days it seems like even schmaltzy love songs have to be belted out at the top of their voice. I just don’t get it. Belt out the jazzy ones but make the love songs SOUND like love songs, not some wild mating call.
Okay, give me back my walker and I’ll get out of here.
Speaking of walkers, I had a doctor’s appt. (pain clinic) the other day and I entered the waiting room and there were SIX patients there…ALL with walkers. I said, "Oops, I forgot my walker." Everybody burst out laughing. The way my back is going it may not be much longer until I join them. <sigh>
I am watching it again this year, I just can not stay away.. I have a few Fav, but I will wait to see who makes the final 24 then I will start picking a winner..smile. I think it will be a good season.
Let me join you with that walker. So, so happy to hear you mention all that screeching that just makes no sense to me. What in the heck is the point of all that?? They even do this to The Star Spangled Banner these days. How awful. When I listen to all the beautiful music from the forties and fifties I am amazed what has happened to our music (and I use that term with clinched teeth). Is it just that we are old, Bonbon or what??? I cannot listen to it at all anymore.
From listening to loud music their hearing is shot so they need to screech and scream in order to hear themselves.
to be "hip" and "in" (or whatever the kids are calling it now-days). I didn’t agree with Whitney Houston and her choice of a way to go, but the lady could sing. Now, more than half of the "talent" will not be remembered in five or ten years…true talent endures.
go into otology. There’s going to be a tremendous need for hearing aids in the near future. And these ear buds are making it even worse because it concentrates the sound right against your ear drums. But will they listen?
and I’m absolutely convinced it’s from all of the many, many, many years of having those damn transcribing plugs in my ears for hours on end on a daily basis.
I blamed it on shooting two boxes of shells when I got divorced without any ear protection but I think it’s just old age. It sure is annoying though.
