I went in the hospital for a total hip replacement on June 10 and in the process, the doctor damaged a large nerve that goes from my hip all the way down to my toes. Consequently, I am having extreme pain, numbness and tingling in my leg and foot. It caused what is called “foot drop” which means I have no control over my foot and it drops down and I can’t lift it up. And that means trying to walk, even with a walker, is very difficult.

I came home from the hospital last Thursday because my DIL is here to help me out as she was the only one who could get away from her job for that long. Unfortunately, she has to go home Wednesday and I can’t stay by myself because of so many things I can’t do, so I am going into a rehab hospital for probably a couple of weeks or possibly more.

This has certainly been an unexpected turn of events but the worst part is nobody can tell me when, or even IF, I will recover. After six weeks I will have a nerve study done and, at that time, they may be able to give me more information about my prognosis.

So, in the meantime, I will continue to watch this mess we all call entertainment because there’s not a whole lot more I can do.

(Humbly accepting ALL prayers available.) :o)

Haven’t you been through enough? Does this issue come under malpractice? Is this nerve damage a notable risk for this procedure? I am actually quite angry reading about it. I am praying you recover. To lose mobility is crushing. And not to be home is frustrating at best. Please keep us posted.

I thought you just stopped posting for a while since nothing’s been very exciting with these stories (until now, anyway). LOL!

You certainly will be in my prayers, and I will be thinking of you and wishing you the speediest of recoveries. Yes, by all means, keep us up to date with your rehab.

Wishing you the very best and God speed a quick recovery, and hope you’re home sooner than you think!

I am so sorry that happened to you.  It must be very scary to have the pain and then not know more about the prognosis.  I will keep you in my prayers, and in fact I already said a prayer for you while writing this.  It was sweet of your daughter-in-law to come and help when she could.  With all of our prayers together, I hope that you feel better and recover soon.  I have seen prayer work so many times, trust me!  Keep us posted, BonBon, and thank you for accepting our praying for you.

I will say a prayer for you, Bonbon.  I can’t believe that happened.  I am so sorry for all you are going through.  How frustrating and scary.  I really hope they can find out exactly what’s going on and be able to help you.

You wrote: "So, in the meantime, I will continue to watch this mess we all call entertainment."  That was very funny. You have your sense of humor and I’m sure that will help you through this.

     All the best to you.
