I have never, ever been able to see the attraction in Andrew, vocal or otherwise; Katie is a beautiful young girl (kinda’ reminds me of our Stephanie a little), but her performances left me saying….. meh! I like this kid Aaron, but watching him and hearing him are two entirely different experiences for me. I know he’s only 16, but he should have learned something about stage presence by now. Tim, sorry young man, but you are probably next on the chopping block. I did like it when Ryan reminded the audience before announcing Andrew was going home that one of the contestants was definitely NOT even in the bottom 3 this week, which was Michael Lynch (Big Mike). Little too cocky on stage, but looks like he had a big slice of humble pie this week. Not nearly as sure of himself, though I’m still rooting for him and Crystal in the finals. I just wish Crystal would step out of her 60’s flower-child appearance and more into today’s. Sorry, but her look is horrid to me. And she has such a pretty face.
So true whatcha said – from start to finish! Love Crystal and think she has her own style but this is 2010 and Janis has been dead for
30+ years(oh my gosh! I just looked it up and she’s been gone 40 years this year!) now – and while Crystal channels Joplin and could almost be her clone, Crystal does need to update her image. Just a little bit…would work great.I am still thinking that the Big Mike being at the bottom was a ratings ploy by the show – I’ve been reading too many articles (via web) that AI has fallen in ratings big time…I would not put it past the show to do something like that to up their ratings.

Wow – loved the song, loved the arrangement, love her! I quit buying music CD’s about six years ago – (old lady that I am), but I’d purchase a CD from her!

I understand they’re considering bringing Shania Twain to the show. Now I can see her over Ellen but I guess that would mean another judge would have to go. If they do, who do you think it would be? They wouldn’t replace Simon with her, would they? I would think they’d need another man for his replacement.
she’s head and shoulders above the rest. Just hope they do a make-over like they did with some of the past contestants. I would love to see her with a beautifully styled hairdo, glistening and shiny, fashionably dressed, and remain that way from here-on out. Everyone else absolutely does sound the same now, from week to week to week, but Crystal always changes it up and keeps it interesting. Something these other kids lack.
You know these judges are ticking me off, they say that the contestants are doing the same thing week after week. Well hello Randy, Kara, and Ellen, They say the same damn thing week after week after week, Randy with his Yo Yo Yo, just didnt do it for me dawg! Ellen is getting somewhat funnier, but I could take her or leave her, Kara I cant stand her long winded, makes no sense responses. Did I mention I dont like Kara?
Crystal was fabulous last night. I was falling asleep off and on last night, I liked Casey’s performance, yeah he didnt move much but I thought he sang it really well.
comments about the judges! It’s like they have a script to read on the teleprompter – as far as Ellen – it’s a singing show – get someone who’s qualified to judge a singing show. (If it was a comedy show – I could see Ellen judging but it’s a singing competition! )
No, not really. Like DWTS, it’s actually a popularity contest. The most popular singer gets the most votes but that doesn’t mean they are the best singer. I think their looks and personality enter into it more than does their voice.
I’ve only watched here and there on the show last year and same with prior years, I think the best part of the show is watching all the people who can’t sing audition.
Last year, it sure seemed like the judges were all pushing for that Adam guy – but didn’t the other guy win? This year I’ve watched from the beginning. I think Simon was favoring Siabon (sp?) at the beginning but he sure ripped into her last night. The 17 year old from Glendale Arizona who won a few years ago – was the best singer that year.
And given all the little girls (12/14 year olds) are voting for Tim (and to me he’s a yawn with his singing), he should be "crowned" AI this year if it’s a popularity contest. Those 12 – 14 year olds, (remember the little girl in the audience who was always crying when that weird little guy came out to sing?), would have made the crazy hair-do amorphic, (can’t remember his name), the contest winner with their votes a few years ago too. Gwaaaack! I guess they are the ones who have the purchasing power of CD’s (and daddy’s money) so it’s who they want.
I agree about Casey. As they keep saying "it’s a singing competition" but with Casey he can not only sing he can really play that guitar. Wtih him you’ve got the whole package.
A few weeks ago they got all over Tim for dancing (yeah it was a bit too much) but then they get all over somone for not moving. Crystal didn’t move and usuallly just stands in one spot singing but they don’t get on her for it. Kara’s been on Casey’s case and against him since she was teased the first or second week about her comments and attraction to his looks. Simon was on one of the late night shows when AI first started this season and said his favorite was Crystal.
Mike is good, but not different enough. Siobhan can sing, but there’s something a bit off in her performances. Lee is probablyher best competition, but Crystal is a budding star.
