Because there was nothing interesting on TV last night at 8:00 I decided to watch AI.  I was pleasantly surprised at how good it was.  I watched the first year but couldn’t get interested during the second season and haven’t watched since, except for catching little snippets occasionally.

I thought there were some fabulous singers and the judges were really enjoyable.  One thing that was a real turn-off for me though was the way they always led the person to believe they didn’t make it and then told them they did.  Once may have been okay but they did it with practically everybody.

So, unless something else interesting comes on at the same time, I just may watch this season.  Besides, then I can discuss it with you guys here.

I think your comment just validates what we regular viewers agree on – this season’s change in judges and the talent level make AI worth watching this time around.
I’m sure the tease about delivering the news is from a producer’s standpoint. All to create more drama.

As viewers we could have done without that drama and gone to an hour show.  I’m sorry but 3 hours for that final walk (1 on Wednesday and 2 on Thursday) was a bit much.   So far though the 2 hour shows are my only complaint this season.

I do feel they had a very difficult task of picking only 24 to go through.  I was disappointed with the last 3 guys though.  I thought based on performances the one to the right of the long curley haired one that went through was the best.  The one that went through wasn’t consistent and the 15 year old JC was a great singer with a sweet voice but I don’t think he was powerful enough to compete with the rest of them even though I would have loved to see him go on.

AI is milking every second out here, when one hour last night would have been more than enough to select the rest of the group.
It’s a gripe of mine on these reality shows in general. Dancing W/the Stars is SO drawn out which is why I rarely watch.

Woohoo!! you wont be disappointed bonbon,  this year has gotten me really excited about idol again,  the past 2 or 3 seasons have been mediocre at best maybe not even that good they are the most talented JMHO.  i think now that idol will go on for a while now, people were afraid that it was the end of idol last year because there was no Simon.  i dont miss him one bit!  there is a boy named Stefano!  only they pronounce it differently.  they draw out the A stef an o   here it sounds like when people pronounce the word AUNT differently.  know what i mean?  ANT and AUNT.

Here are my favorites so far…….they’ll probably change when we start hearing them really sing.  for the guys,  Scotty McCreery, Clint Jun Gamboa, Casey Abrams, Jacob Lusk, and James Durbin.  For the girls Thia Megia, julie Zorrilla, Naima Adedapo, and Pia Toscano.   i also have to route for the girl from loudon tn, Kendra Chantelle, we lived there for 2 years.

what will happen when Simon Cowell’s X-Factor comes on.  I saw in the paper they are doing auditions here in Miami next weekend.  I think he had a big enough following that a lot of people will switch over to his new show.  I think I remember seeing that it would be on at the same time as Idol.

Also, that’s when DWTS is on (they are announcing the next season’s stars tonight) and my DVR can only record two shows.  I may have to make a choice as I’m anxious to see X-Factor and DWTS is my #1 show.  They have no age limit (X-Factor) and allow duets, trios, etc. to audition.

but between the absolute raw talent of this year’s contestants, coupled with the humor, wit and sheer entertainment of the judges, I will be glued to AI this year, no doubt about it.  I can’t begin to guess who will win this year, they are all so talented.  I have to say, I don’t like Jordan’s personality, but the guy can really sing and has terrific stage presence.  I think of lot of how these kids will be knocked off this year will boil down to song selection.  They have to be really careful that if they pick it, they better be able to belt it out.  I’m psyched and ready to get started.  Right now I’d be lying if I said I thought any one was better than another, that’s how good they ALL are.

Amazing!  Where have these people been???  The Beatles night was better than stuff we got from the top 5 in recent years!  And I am totally enjoying J Lo and Steven Tyler – what a breath of fresh air!

could Tyler be any uglier?  I thought Nick Jagger was ugly but the two of them could certainly have a "face-off" for most ugly.  I guess God gave them talent instead of looks.

Arrowsmith – that will take a toll on how one looks – a lot of the rockers faces look like road maps (or the road).  I thought when he first was on the show that he’d probably been to Joan Rivers or Michael Jackson’s plastic surgeon – he’s had some kind of work done that’s for sure.
