ParticipantI wondered if something was wrong when they brought in that new priest. He was definitely a talented actor and I will miss him.

ParticipantSo sad. I realty enjoyed the character of Fr. Matt. I loved his scenes with Nicole. He always seemed to understand her.

ParticipantI can’t imagine the Waltons without him as the dad. And enjoyed his stint on Days. Have not heard if he died suddenly or had been ill. The other priest (not Timothty) is bland compared to Fr. Matt.

ParticipantI was wondering why we haven’s seen Father Matt. He was 85 years old, and I read somewhere that no information on his cause of death has been revealed, which leads me to believe that perhaps he died of natural causes. He was very convincing in his role as Father Matt, and he will be missed. Condolences to his family.

ParticipantI felt so sad when I heard this on the news this morning. He had such a nice way about him and he was so convincing as a priest on Days.

ParticipantRalph Waite earned a master’s degree from Yale University Divinity School and was an ordained Presbyterian minister and religious editor at Harper & Row in New York City before deciding on an acting career. Waite was married three times, two marriages ending in divorce. He had three daughters from his first marriage. His eldest daughter died of leukemia when she was nine years old in 1964. After 50 years away from organized religion, Waite returned in 2010 and became an active member of Spirit of the Desert Presbyterian Fellowship in Palm Desert, California. Ralph Waite died peacefully on February 13, 2014, from age-related illnesses; he was 85 years old. (Info from Wikipedia)

ParticipantBut because they film so far in advance it’s probably not feasible.
