Peter Reckell himself said they (PR and SN) completed, in some instances, 7 tapings in one day. I’m thinking PR only committed to do so many days/weeks to the final completion and closure of the Bo Brady sl, and that’s on him, but I believe it’s why everything was so rushed. Personally, I think they spent too much time on the Aiden departure sl, and not enough on Bo’s return. Those flashbacks of Aiden killing Hope seemed to go on forever, until I was sick to death of seeing it.

I loved that the entire show today was composed of 6 actors, each heartfelt in their own way, but PR and KA should both be best actor Emmy noms next season, with MBE and SN and perhaps even PMc nominated in the supporting actor role. That’s how fabulous they all were to me.
I just don’t want to be ‘teened’ to death with their stories. I don’t mind right now, because Ciara will have a very difficult time because of her obvious love for her parents, and losing Bo may drive her absolutely bonkers; however, I hope she at least tries to understand what Hope will be going through, as well as Shawn D., Caroline, and everyone else who will be affected by Bo’s death. I think the young actress, although inexperienced, is improving, but seeing how she responds to losing her dad after it took so long to get him back will/should prove whether the actress can handle this role.
I really, really like the young actors portraying Theo and Joey, who seem to be comfortable with their roles; however, I’m not too keen on the actor portraying Chase Jennings. I realize he feels like a total outsider now, as well he should, but it’s just something about his acting that doesn’t make me wish to see more of him. Bo’s death should affect these kids, each in their own way, so I’ll hold off on any further comments until I see what they have in store for us.
Claire will return with Belle next week, and it remains to be seen how they will be affected, since they will return with their own grief story to add, on top of Bo’s death. Lots still to come down the line, but these writers are hitting all major beats in restoring DOOL to the Days that used to be. Congrats to everyone involved, in front of the cameras and behind them as well.
what can I say? What I don’t want, nor do I expect, to see is an immediate, or even anything more than friends, relationship between them. Hope needs to fully experience everything that has happened, from her disbelief in Bo leaving his family to begin with, to his obvious capture and torture, to marrying Aiden and then having him attempt to murder her on their wedding night, and finally climaxing with the reality of his death. She is going to need more than Doc Evans to get her through all of this. That being said, maybe after we’ve received word that DOOL has or is going to be renewed, then they can begin to write Rafe and Hope growing closer, even more than friends, whatever; just not anytime too soon. It would simply not be believable to me.
not the place where Ben is holding Abigail. I’m wondering where he got that midwife from. I mean, he didn’t just walk into Salem U. Hospital and request one. Guess he just googled it on his phone, or just looked in the Yellow Pages. Same with the food. I’m thinking they’re still in Salem somewhere, though. Unfortunately, for us, the show never makes these things clear, so it’s no wonder people have so many questions.
which is actually on Smith Island. This set is called "secluded" hideaway (or something similar), but it’s not the Horton cabin. It has never been referred to by the show as the Horton cabin.
and at first it shocked me, because Joey doesn’t know the real Ava Vitali. I feel as if Ava will be using Joey to think she is attempting to help Steve and Kayla reunite, but truly it will probably be anything but that. I’m reading Ava is going to be very dark, once again, and vicious, so poor Joey will be used in her plot to get to Steve. Lord, I hope she’s a very short arc. I like Tamara Braun, but I never could stand Ava, the hopelessly in love with Steve mafia princess sl! Ugh!
I don’t look at it as Bo choosing his replacement for Hope. He knows Rafe, has worked with himi in the past, and knows Rafe will be there for Hope. I didn’t take him telling Rafe "you love her" to mean anything more than loving her as a dear friend and Hope’s partner; of course, I think he has a sense that Rafe has feelings for Hope, but not those kind of feelings that Bo would have as her husband of some 30 years or so. I think he knows Rafe will do exactly that, since he cares so much for Hope, and that’s exactly what Bo wants for Hope. Don’t get me wrong, if Bo wasn’t sure he was dying, he would kick Rafe’s butt for drooling over his wife. LOL! I just really like the way Rafe has been trying to hide his feelings, but Bo picked up on them right away, and that’s why he is letting Rafe know what is going to happen to him….just so that he will be sure Rafe will be there for Hope. I don’t think he believes Rafe and Hope will jump into Hope’s bed before the sheets are cold; just the opposite, and that Rafe will be a very concerned, caring, dear friend who will look after his wife when Bo is gone, even if he is a little lovesick about it.
Hope is alone most of the time because that’s the way she wants it. She has had plenty of support offered to her; she’s just refusing to accept it. Bo, I think, is still trying to get up the nerve to tell Hope the truth about him dying. I can see him going to Rafe yesterday, because he wanted to prepare Rafe before he told Hope, as he knows Hope will need Rafe’s strength. I thought that scene was well done yesterday. He should tell Hope today, or maybe tomorrow, and Bo should be dead by Thanksgiving, I’m betting. Whether or not we will see him die is what I’m questioning now. Are the writers going to give us a well written, well acted, extremely emotional death of Bo Brady, or are we going to have to use our imagination because it will all be done "off screen"?
Ciara is not helping her parents by constantly insisting they belong together and should get married right away. I realize she is extremely happy to have her father home and wants her parents together, but she’s being a little too pushy about it for me.
I still can’t say I’m happy with the sorased teens stories so far, but then I don’t particularly like teen stories on soaps, so for now I’ll just say they aren’t doing a bad job with them, and the new younger actors are fine …. I’m just not interested in them.
Maybe the rest of their combined families will be at Bo’s surprise party, I don’t know, but maybe Caroline felt Hope just might not be in a "party" mood. I know I wouldn’t.
I still don’t think Chase will be staying around for too long. The original spoilers I read said Chase AND Aiden will be gone in November. Maybe he will be a run-away, never to be found again; ergo, end of Chase Jennings.
but for now I think it’s just rumor. It’s sort of a pattern though for these young actors to leave after 4 years and move on to what they believe to be opportunities in prime time. Soaps are a great beginning for this, especially when you are involved in a very active and popular story like the one Kate Mansi is doing now.
and if he (Bo) didn’t know he was going to die, he would act upon it quite differently, I’m sure; however, since he knows his own fate, he has worked with Rafe himself, and he knows Rafe is a really good guy who will always be there for Hope, I think that scene yesterday with that slight smile from Bo indicated that approval….just not too soon, please writers. I suspect Bo’s death will affect Hope very much in the way that Zach’s death did. I love that Rafe will be there for her, but I see no instance where he’s being pushy about it in any way, shape or form. She will need someone with a clear head, because the entire Brady family and all of Bo’s friends will in all liklihood be nearly as upset as Hope herself. Rafe is respectful to all of the Bradys, especially Bo, and so far I really like the way the writers are handling this potentially new pairing for Hope……but down the road, of course…..
I think at one time I even suggested it would be fun to see Hope the detective pair up with Nicole the journalist and do some P.I. work together, sort of like a Cagney & Lacy team. But John and Patch….priceless. With both of them having the training and being former ISA, it looks like it could be some thrilling investigative work coming up for them, if, in fact, they actually go through with this sl. My guess would be that those damn DiMeras would be first thing on their agenda. LOL! Personally, I think Sami will get out of her own predicament without their help, though! Make this happen writers, with "Black Patch"!!! Just the thought of what those two could get into (yep, I’m talking to you, Ava Vitali) will be so enjoyable to watch. These writers are hitting it out of the park and I’m just eating it up with a spoon. LOL!
Now Goodell and the NFL are saying that the game should have been declared over and the penalty allowing the winning field goal by the Jags was unjust, i.e., the Ravens should have won. Too little, too late!
