but these last 22 games are going to be the most exciting we’ve witnessed here in Charm City for our O’s in more than 14 years.  Talk about a psyched town …. just hoping our Ravens do well tonight.  We always have trouble with the Bengals, but more times than not seem to pull off the win.  Anyway, so much fun, and we’re flying high with our "birds" of Baltimore on the football field as well as the baseball field.  Have to say, though, it was nice to see Peyton Manning playing in the Orange and Navy Blue last night, with Denver pulling off the win against the Steelers (OUR never-ending nemesis).  Hope the Bills can pick it up for you guys this season.

because he surely is; but the character has so many unattractive personal faults besides being a sexual tease with women, which he truly is whenever he does things like constantly nuzzling their neck, or rubbing his body up against them, completely ignoring that his advances are unwanted at the time.  He continually invades their space until they simply give in; that’s just being abusive.  I have seen this too many times to count with both Sami and Nicole, and/or anyone else this character has been with intimately.  He’s like a preying mantis.  Also, E.J.’s mannerisms are a turn-off for me, from his snarky, cocky attitude, to his condescending way in which he speaks to anyone, right down to the sound of his voice itself, which has always been like nails on a chalkboard for me.  He’s so damn smug with everyone he comes in contact with.  Unpunished crimes aside, the man’s personal habits when he is seducing any woman puts him close to an abomination for me ….. other than that, I will admit, James is a good lookin’ guy as well as a good actor.  That’s why I’m so glad to see he’s the one who will be chasing and hopefully wind up being rejected by Sami this time around.  She really needs to get this guy out of her system for good.  She already does enough damage to herself; she doesn’t need any further help from E.J.

what a bad person Nick is.  For that matter, so did Brady and Daniel.  I do give Mel some credit here (as well as the writers) for Melanie admitting that she was a horrible person when she first came to Salem, and that she used Nick; also that she believes Nick paid his debt to society, while she never did.  Nice that the writers recalled that little fact.  As for Chad, does he realize who his father and brother are?  Last time I checked, Nick couldn’t hold a candle to the DiMera crime lords.  Same thing for Brady.  The Kiriakis name doesn’t ring any church bells while you’re saying their names either.  All these do-gooders for poor, innocent, lily-white Melanie.

And who died and made Chad Gabi’s boss?  Don’t get me wrong, I think Melanie needs to know what Gabi did to her.  Even though she (Gabi) was not responsible for what Andrew did to Mel, she certainly knew about it and went along with the cover up.  But, now Chad is her conscience????  For as much as I don’t care about Gabi, I hope she either tells Rafe what he’s doing to her, or I hope she slams him herself, in front of Melanie, letting Mel know that he knew about it and chose NOT to tell Melanie.  Hypocritical much, Chad?  You will never walk in your father’s shoes, son, or your brother’s for that matter.  You are the DiMera joke.  Just because you have the name doesn’t mean that you can claim the fame.

Nick is the son of Joshua Fallon and Jessica Blake.  Jessica is the daughter of Marie Horton and Alex Marshall, and the granddaughter of Alice and Tom Horton.  In 1981 Alex Marshall legally adopted Jessica, but she was still unaware he was her natural father. Alex eventually told Jessica he was her father, and she accepted him, but hated Marie for keeping the truth from her and her father.  Nick came to Salem to get to know his Horton relatives.

and yes, she absolutely seems to have toned it down.  She’s not exploding on people like Sami normally does.  Good for her.  It’s about time.  I noticed the same thing with her conversation with Rafe today, and although Nicole tried to bait her into an argument today, Sami would not allow her to do it, and I liked that a lot.  She even walked out rather than argue back or trade barbs with Nic.  She’s very conflicted right now, and maybe she will keep her promise to herself and take a good long look at what she’s brought on herself, and decide to think things through a little more carefully than she ever has in the past.  That’s what I would like to see for Sami.  I think this is what the new writers are trying to do, and if so, then they will make this Sami fan extremely happy.  If not, oh well, I’ll still love her.

and if they would just keep writing Bryan like that, I would love it.  He had E.J. really thinking about what he said today, and although E.J. was trying to brush Lucas’ warnings out of his face, he couldn’t help but admit to his self that Lucas knows Sami better than any man, and although E.J. may have tried not to show it, he’s worried.  That’s why he quickly concocted that little mind game with Sami trying to make her think that he now believes Rafe is Nicole’s baby daddy when he knows darn well that Nicole’s baby is his (EJ’s) child.  OR, maybe Lucas was the crafty one here, by giving both E.J. and Rafe enough rope to hang themselves, with Lucas planning that Sami will see that he is best for her after all.  He as much told E.J. what he had to do to keep Sami in his life, so was it a trick?  If so it was brilliant on Lucas’ part, although I still like them better together as best friends and not as lovers.  Lucas gets as possessive as E.J. when he’s with Sami and that’s when he gets on my nerves.  Nicole had her smart cap on today today when she saw right through Rafe’s feelings for Sami.  The new writers must give it a rest with Sami, stop her merry-go-round of men, and let her step off.  Pick a man for her, any one of them, and build on it or on why they should be together.  I still predict they’ll put her back with Rafe, and that’s when we will see the real E.J. DiMera return.

There’s a slow building of the story lines right now, but I find that’s much better than just jumping into something too quickly and then scratching my head and saying to myself, ‘huh?  how/when/where did that happen?"  I especially like Nick’s story, but I totally agree about Gabi and Chad.  I think both of these actors are boring and their talent just seemed to fly out the window, or , as I more than likely suspect, never was there to begin with.  I wish they would get into a build-up for Bo’s exit, though; they (the show) certainly owe this actor a more respectful exit story line than they gave a long-time vet like Matt Ashford.  Hmmm, I just don’t know Bryan D.  Have you started cleaning out your dressing room yet?  I can’t see much in your future right about now.  (Just speculating this — no spoiler intended).

with a gorgeous family, AND a gorgeous body, and probably a gorgeous bank account, who evidently works extremely hard at attaining her goals.  I give her all the credit in the world.

Whoop-de-doo (UGGGHHHHH!).  To make matters worse, Comcast is broadcasting the VERY SAME program on the "Golf" channel.

and I’d really like them to bring back Julie’s RL husband, Billy Warlock, as Frankie.  If Daniel is going to drop Nicole like a hot potato, I’d love to see Frankie return and give him a run for his money with Jennifer.  But certainly not right away, since Jennifer needs a respectful time to grieve before moving on from Jack.

was Ian’s mother, and another of Santo DiMera’s mistresses.  Ian said she was promised half of the DiMera fortune for what Ian believed to be their child (Ian), but no proof has yet to come out that Ian is in fact a DiMera.  All this was done because Ian was a DiMera in his OWN mind, so he decided to take what he believed was meant for him, and in turn give it to Madison, his only true love.  Other than that, it was all about Ian really loving Madison, and by taking what be perceived to be his birthright, he set everyone up by framing E.J., and then revealing Stefano was alive; that Ian had traveled practically around the world to find a Stefano look-alike (which I thought was cheesy), then duped him into helping Ian fool everyone.  Unfortunately, for the imposter, Ian killed him.  It was the imposter’s body in the chair, not Stefano, whom Ian had kidnapped beforehand.  Ian taunted E.J. how easy it was to switch blood-tests to fool everyone into believing the body in DeMansion was Stefano who was killed (which is why the hospital revealed to Roman and Rafe and Spencer that Stefano and E.J.’s blood were not a match and that E.J. was not Stefano’s bio-son), and then reminding E.J. that he should know how easy it was to switch a blood-test (making me believe Johnny may not be E.J.’s but Lucas’).  I think there is still a whole lot more to this story to be told.  For instance, I believe that was not the real letter from Alice in the safe-deposit box, and that Ian somehow had that switched out too.  I believe that Alice’s real secret is yet to be told, but when it is revealed it will prove not what but WHO, in fact, Alice was protecting and what she was really holding over Stefano’s head.  This last part is speculation and JMO, but I’d almost be willing to bet there is still a lot more to this story and that what we have seen so far may be just the tip of the iceberg.

especially where Nick is concerned, as well as pairing Sami and E.J.  I mentioned practically the same feelings about Nick in another thread.  Nick is a very interesting character to me, and a lot of cast will be drawn into his storyline, especially the Horton clan, and I think that’s good.  The more interaction characters have who normally do not interact in a story line, the better I like it.

As for Sami and E.J., although I think they do have chemistry, they should never be a couple, nor should they be friends with benefits, and possibly not even friends; but, responsible parents sharing their children’s lives ….. probably, that would be the best way for them to go, since neither of them wind up paying for their crimes anyway.  I do think Sami and Rafe are eventually going to be put back together again, and as much as I love Bryan Dattilo, if they don’t take him out of Sami’s orbit and give him a life of his own, he may as well say goodbye yet again.  Right now Lucas is nothing more but a fish out of water.

Nicole is slowly returning to Nicole, and I’m okay with that.  Ari is such a good actress, she can play just about any role and still make me like her.  I just want weepy, whiny, wishy-washy Nicole gone.

I do have to say, I really like the way the new writing is going so far, and hope it continues.  The ratings have improved, and even NBC is promoting the show through the day now more than usual through daytime promos.  Nice going NBC, SONY and Corday Productions.  It’s about time you are all stepping up and supporting DOOL.  Let’s face it, improved ratings are what it’s all about when contract time rolls around.

but not before asking him what he would have done if she asked him not to bail his brother out of jail after all he has done to her family and their friends.
