Could it be nick hanging out at the cabin and leaving the heat on?

It just further shows how naïve and out of her league she is when contrasted with Sami, Kate, and EJ.

So I also think that Ann is not a nice person to put it mildly. I also agree that the snarky confrontations in the public areas are juvenile, as was the dumb attempt by Anne to highjack the Christmas story reading. However, as someone else said on this post, Jennifer isn’t shown at work very much. She’s always off doing something else. And c’mon, just putting Abby in the assistant job was terrible narcissism, at least if she is getting paid which it looks like she is since she is putting in for the position at the full-time rate. So no, I do not like Anne but I think she is justified in her professional criticisms of Jennifer just not in the way that she airs them.

re: Abby’s granny-style. Her outfits are so weird to me but then again, I also feel that way most of the time about Jennifer’s ensembles. I also loved Sami’s “big” hair – reminded me of Blair from the Facts of Life.

I personally think Ari is the most beautiful actress on the show (as does my husband).

The purple dress was lovely on her. Much better than the thermal underwear-like shirt she was wearing the other day. I don’t normally really notice too much about the attire but that shirt was just a bizarre fashion choice for the character IMO, especially as she was out in public with it on. Even when she had that psychotic moment after losing the baby (the “Jennifer pushed me down the stairs” one) she didn’t look that frumpy.

for the most part about cable having generally better offerings.  There are a few shows that I think are superb, however, on the networks.  I watch The Good Wife, Private Practice (until it was canceled recently), Modern Family, and Nashville (I will watch anything with Connie Britton who I think is fabulous).  I also have just gotten hooked on Fox’s new show The Following with Kevin Bacon.  I have heard that Scandal is good on ABC but I haven’t seen it.  I also love Dallas and The Walking Dead but those are on cable.  Does Downton Abby count as being on a "network" as it is on PBS?  Well I guess it’s moot since it is an import anyway.  Wow, I watch a lot of TV ;)

why wouldn’t they let Chloe be with Parker during his ER visit?  I have visited the ER with my son who was around two at the time and I didn’t leave his side and was mostly holding him the whole time.  There is no way I was going to be apart from him during that scary time.  I guess I could see them shooing her out of the room during his convulsion but that’s it!

I think it is great!  I really like all of the early-1980’s clothes and cars and pop culture stuff.  I think the writing and acting are superb and I am riveted when I play it back.  So glad to hear that somebody else checked it out!

to Cameron?  I may be mistaken, but I thought he broke up with her because she wouldn’t sleep with him!  That seems terrible on his part and he should be apologizing to her, not the other way around!  She has nothing to be sorry for when it comes to Cameron.  Admittedly, I am a week behind so just watched their breakfast date where she was falling all over herself because she "blew it" with him before.  Barf.

Your comment about soaps being the exception as a format for daytime TV is a good one and one that I have also been making for some time.  I can’t tell you how fatigued I am with all of the "lifestyle" shows on now – The Talk, The View, The Chew, Nate Berkus, that one with the style guy from Project Runway (unless it’s been canceled already) etc.  There are only so many shows of how to turn your old patio furniture into planters and how to make an easy week-night dinner with simple ingredients (like ginger root or something, like everybody has THAT in their pantry) that I can watch.  I think soaps are now the respite from these droning shows and I really hope that NBC keeps Days around.  Although I do have to say that I love Ellen and will watch her show anytime, but I classify her as a talk show and not a lifestyle show.

Yes, the whole thing with Rafe/Carrie was gross and laughable.

at my wedding in 2002 was almost the exact same gown!  My husband audibly gasped when he saw it on Maggie!  The ONLY difference was that I had my gown altered to have 3/4 length sleeves instead of the long belled sleeves that Maggie had.  It was great to see it on TV.  I will mention that I was 24 when I got married, and the people at the gown shop cautioned that the design was too old for me, but I thought it was perfect for my church wedding and my husband agreed, so it worked out!

I appreciated that Nadia B’s criticisms were made in a matter-of-fact way and were not rambling and crazy-sounding like Louise Sorel’s comments on being let go.  I am a fan of the Vivian character but thought that Louise S was over the top with her farewell mud-slinging interview.
