Yes, I realize I have to suspend some sense of reality when watching Days. But Austin is such a dufus (I could take this from the other actor!) how can he justify his actions with this coed? They are together constantly, he behaves like he and Abs are peers, and that bit about his “tech” ignorance is simply laughable. It’s almost like she’s the older one.
what Days is doing with some of these characters and making them look like idiots. What was with Gabby and Chad now? Not just the photo shoot but I recall a scene not long ago that hinted at maybe Gabby going for Chad. Was the shoot just to add to Mel’s anxiety? Or is this just one big erotic fest that Days seems to be pounding viewers with. I don’t find any of it – Quinn/the spa, Rafe/Carrie, Austin/Abby. musical partners – in the least interesting, it seems a mess right now, and I’m am seriously questioning Days’ commitment to returning this soap to its family roots.
I’ve always liked Debra Winger as an actress. I believe she may be one of the most underrated in the biz because she was never flashy, never a bimbo, never a Hollywood star stereotype. There is a strength and at the same time vulnerability in her performances and she never comes off as fake. I wish she had done more films.
generations is the issue. I can only see the increased frequency and boundary pushing of these voyueristic scenes as an avenue to get buzz and ratings. Let’s just be as outrageous as possible, which is the clarion call of current society. It is so contrived and hardly purposeful to the integrity of the SL. I put this solidly at the feet of Ken Corday and always find myself wondering what his parents would think.
to return to the ol’ glory days and kept pointing out how important family was. This latest serving of “afternoon delight” (anyone remember that song by the Starland Vocal Band?!) is not my idea of good writing and drama. In fact, it’s lazy writing and slumming it as far as I’m concerned.
Seems like KC is falling into the “sex sells” trap, but I don’t think that’s what the Days audience is after.the Will is gay SL, but so far it’s been handled sensitively and I find it interesting, mainly because of Chandler’s topnotch performance, and Sonny is darn good too.
Carrie and Rafe. I’m really having a problem about couples automatically being romantically drawn simply because they work together. It’s way overdone on this show, has become predictable and makes a mockery of those you think of as standup people.
although it could be Madison might be turning over a new lead in Salem but her past comes back to haunt her?
That scene showed how Will was way in over his head. Just the fact he thought he could trot over to EJ’s and make this demand shows that not is he not made of the same ugly stuff, but he is emotionally wrought right now and putty in EJ’s hands.
I think it’s a terrible move by Days brass. Why oh why do they insist on keeping this couple apart? I don’t know of any viewer who wants this!
I also think this endless parade of returning characters is getting old – at least with me.
