to get another opinion. I had a lump in my breast for four years (and two mamograms) that the my Ob-gyn told me was just fibrocystic. When my GP felt it he sent me for another mamogram (which came back negative) and to a surgeon. The surgeon said he wanted to take a biopsy and, yup, it was cancer. So, only one month after having a clean mamogram, I had a walnut size cancerous tumor removed requiring a modified radical mastectomy and six months of chemo.
My friend, who is a nurse, kept telling me, "You have a lump that doesn’t belong there, get it removed." I wish I had listened to her and I may have gotten by with a lumpectomy instead of a mastectomy.
So my advice to anyone who is worried about a lump, get a second opinion, and from a surgeon, not an Ob-gyn. Insist on a biopsy.
react differently but I guess because I’m an eternal optimist, I didn’t even act like that when the doc told me it WAS cancer. I didn’t even think of dying, only what a pain it was going to be to go through surgery and chemotherapy. And I had good reason to worry as my father, brother and sister all died of cancer along with several aunts and uncles.
I guess I just don’t understand why people cause themselves so much grief before they even know there is going to be a problem. Let’s face it, how many women that have cysts (I assume they were in her uterus) turn out to be cancerous? I don’t know the number but I’d bet it’s less than 10%.
Please don’t think I’m belittling anybody for their feelings, it’s just that it’s so contrary to mine. I know people all react differently to many things and I though Sami’s were way over the top. But then, this IS a soap and we need the drama! :o)
Thanks, Nora. Although I’m beginning to like her with Brady now too. I always kind of hoped Brady could get back with Chloe even though we’ve never seen these two actors work together, it may not work out. But I always though EJ and Nicole had so much potential storylinewise plus they really look good together.
Although I liked Lisa Rinna, I preferred Julie Pinson and thought she did a great job in the role. I wouldn’t mind seeing her come back as long as she stays away from Bo.
so I’d just as soon see Jen with Dan. Besides, I like Daniel and I think they make a really cute couple. It’d be okay with me if Jack is pining over her and tries to get her back but I don’t want to see a lot of angst and second-guessing on Jen’s part and have him come between her and Dan.

Fremont is right on the Hayward Fault and they get a lot of shakin’ there. He’ll probably call your quake a little jiggle. :o)
Most of the time when you are in a car you don’t feel the smaller quakes anyway. It would just feel like you are going over some rough pavement.

Plus, contrary to what they say on that site, you cannot use them unless a hurricane is predicted in the next 24 hours and must be removed 24 hours after it has passed. Some people try to use them when they go on vacation of the snowbirds when they go back home but they get fined if they do.
I said I’d rather have an earthquake instead of the hurricane but that’s not really true. You know when a hurricane is coming and can prepare for it. It’s just that the prepration is such a hassle. When Wilma went through here five years ago (my first hurricane), in spite of all the damage we had, it wasn’t nearly as bad as I expected. I sat and watched TV (until the power went out) through the whole thing. Earthquakes (after the Loma Prieta one, I lived 5 miles from the epicenter) scare the bejesus out of me.
Looks like Irene is headed our way and it may be a Cat 3 by the time it gets here. Truthfully, I’d rather have the earthquake. If it’s a Cat 3 I’ll have to put up my hurricane shutters and that is a hugh job. Have to hire someone to do it to the tune of $200/up and $200/down. Plus, you have to live in a dark cave all the while they’re up. Keep your fingers crossed people.

She went off on a tyrant the last time they let her go. And now she’s doing it again. Bad-mouthing your employer to the public is certainly burning bridges she can’t afford (at her age) to do. So, they didn’t give her a gold watch and a big send-off party. She’s just not that special.
She needs to understand that it’s not personal, it’s the bottom line that they are thinking about. I have a feeling she is probably not the nicest person to work with and that may have had something to do with the way she was notified.
