ParticipantWhile I’m very happy to have a gay man post here (because we never get to hear your opinions or point of view on things), I’m afraid you are reading something into my post that isn’t there. While I’m not fond of any of the "sex scenes," gay or straight, I said below that what bothers me about Will and Sonny’s is because the actors are not gay in real life. If I knew the actors were actually gay, it would be a very natural thing and not make me so uncomfortable. (You really should read my post further on down.) Maybe I should have said, "Two straight guys making out makes me uncomfortable and I don’t like to watch. Would that have elicited the same response from you?) Anyway there’s not an iota of homophobia in my body.
I have been sympathetic to the gays’ plight since I was in high school (55+ years ago) and found out my next door neighbor was gay. We sat many nights on our front stoops discussing what he was going through (he was not out) when I was one of only a couple of people he chose to confide in. I have always stood up for gays when people would try to tell me it was a "choice." You’ll never convinceme of that! Most of my few gay and lesbian friends ARE over the age of 50 but I also have some friends, more acquaintances than close friends because of our age difference, who are much younger (don’t know any teens though).
So, I’ll just say that you have way misjudged and accused me of something that is very far from the truth. We have Powerpaw here who has graciously given us her opinion on this topic but I don’t believe we’ve ever had a gay man speak out here. I hope you will stay and continue to do so because I value other people’s opinions and POV…but, please, don’t ever accuse me of being homophobic or, at least on this topic anyway, a hypocrit.

ParticipantSorry for the duplication, can’t figure out how to delete it.

ParticipantIt was bad enough when she was faking the stuff but hasn’t that kid ever had a fever before. BTW, that child we saw certainly didn’t have a 105º. He would have been very close to convulsions. My youngest used to get ear infections and his temp would soar like that. We didn’t go to the ER, we had in in cool water in the bath tub. And no flannel PJs and wrapped in a blanket either. You take their clothes off and try to cool them down.
Anyway, I can understand her getting in a panic but having Daniel there certainly was not necessary.

Participantthat flashback with Will and Lucas. Why didn’t they use the actual one. At first I couldn’t figure out why Will looked so different and didn’t remember him ever wearing braces. People who don’t read the newsgroups will wonder what happened.
I don’t understand what Kristin is doing. She ordered that first double vodka when nobody was even looking and then dumped it in the plant. So, why bother. But I’m anxious to see what she has up her sleeve. Yes, she plays a very believable drunk. As did the guy who was hitting on them. I’ve seen him many times in my younger days.

ParticipantMy head understands that but emotionally I can’t accept it. If the actors were gay in real life it wouldn’t bother me at all. Yes, weird, I know. Bit just how I feel.
And Patti, while I understand wht you say about keeping up, I have to question why TPTB would want to continue when the viewers–including the gays–don’t like it. Although we really haven’t heart from any gay guys who may like these scenes. So, like you say, we can choose to watch or not.

Participantto keep Daniel with Parker are sooooo lame. He’ll have to start all over if he doesn’t see him for one night??? Are you kidding me? And they want us to swallow that one?

Participanta girl is embarassed (to her peers) to admit she is still a virgin. It’s like she is unattractive or unwanted or can’t get anybody. I’m afraid they don’t look at the same way us "older" people do.

Participantremember when Jack came back they decided to "not do it" anymore until Jen made up her mind.

Participanthe’d better be so falling-down, stupid drunk that he doesn’t even know who HE is.

Participantthose white ribbed sleeveless t-shirts like Sami was wearing in bed (you’ll see when you watch). They are called that because that’s kind of what you picture someone who beats his wife wearing…along with a three-day whisker stubble and a can of bear in his hand. Does that conjure up an image for you?
I remember Helen Hunt wearing one in "Twister" and wondered how she could look so good underneath it without a bra.

ParticipantLet’s see now, who HASN’T she slept with? She’s nailed Stephano, John, Daniel, EJ, Roman…

ParticipantI don’t think is was the best ever but right up there on the top. Very touching. Anhueiser Busch has a great ad firm, I’ll say that for them. I really liked the farmer one too.

Participantis the best thing this show has gotten in a loooooong time. Her and Nicole make the show watchable. I love Kristin, not for what she does but she’s just so evil and devious I can’t help but like watching her. I really, really hated to see her leave last time and I know everybody felt the same when she left The Young and the Restless.
There have been very few characters I have…hated is too strong…disliked intensely. Topping the list would be Kate, of course. Andrew was another. Mostly temporary actors that come and go. I could easily add Chad to my list.

ParticipantI hate to hear that. And the femur is a hard bone to break. You must have really taken a nasty spill. Why do you need blood? Just a precaution?
You’ve got my thoughts and prayers. Stay pain free (yell for meds if you have to) and heal quickly.
