From what I read over Twitter this weekend, actors’ contracts run on 26-week cycles. Brandon Beemer had just restarted a cycle when the news came out, so somebody at the studio probably didn’t do their homework properly as he was legally bound to work for the rest of the cycle. So it’s at best probably another 26 weeks of Shawn staying.

Nothing was said about the actress, so she’s probably gone.

the actor himself confirmed it on Twitter tonight. He says we can expect riveting stuff in the coming months.

And yes, they did meet on the show.

AFAIC, I don’t hate SC, but a lot of people on the web feel that Daniel has taken too much airtime from other characters. They think he’s inserted in every single storyline and wish this could happen to more interesting characters, or characters who do have more history on the show than Daniel does. It’s usually those who would want to see more Bo, Patch, John, etc who scream bloody murder everytime Daniel is seen.

Others also say he’s a sl*t as he’s slept with Chelsea and Kate, Chloe, Nicole… But really, are we to hold soap characters up to our "real life" standards?  What about someone like Brady… Chloe, Nicole, Madison, Teresa…. None of them are angels!

I guess I’m pretty neutral here. SC could walk, I wouldn’t lose sleep over it, but I won’t campaign for his departure either.

She recently (last week) tagged him on Twitter. They’re both very active with a charity and that’s still going on.

    Hi Bonbon,

James Scott updates his Twitter feed every now and then. A while back he posted pictures of himself floating in turquoise seas. No clear location, but South-East Asia for sure. And yesterday, he posted a picture of himself in a red "dress", in front of an Ashram. The accompanying tweet thanked the ashram for a great week of meditation.

It seems he couldn’t be further from EJ Dimera’s life at the moment!

    Hi Casey,

She tweeted about two weeks ago, and the way she worded it made me believe she was let go.

If you want to read her tweet,  go to soapcentral.com/days/news/2014/1024-stause.php

The word "coucher" originally meant "to lie down". "Coucher avec" has come to mean "to sleep with" someone. I’m thinking it might be the same evolution?

     Hi Mommytutu,

If you want to see the Hope/Aiden section of Thursday’s show, you can find it on YouTube at :

I’m not in the US, so I read the recaps online and when there’s a scene I really want to see, YouTube’s my friend!

Let us know what you thought of the whole thing.

And agree with you all. With what little steps there were, this much head turning was ridiculous. Then again, in that small a space, what else could the actors do? A pity, considering all the build-up we were subjected to!

I can confirm that the head movements are an integral part of classical waltz dancing, and for a very practical reason. Dancers spin around so much they can quickly feel very dizzy. The head turning, left, right, left, right, diminishes the dizziness.

I haven’t seen the show yet but the waltz is in my eyes the easiest ballroom dancing to learn, there’s only 1 set of steps to remember, and the head movements of course. Hope and Aiden may have been able to learn it in about 30 min top!

This will be another hot summer’s day at 35 degrees Celsius.

If it makes you feel any better, I’ll be stuck in an office all day!

    Stay warm everybody.

Well, I make it home for the last 15 min of the show if I’m lucky, and from what I saw this week, it was all the blow-up after Parker’s baptism (baptism took place just before Christmas, before I went home). Stephanie and Melanie fought and Mel fell to the ground, yada yada yada. I can’t be bothered with that storyoline.

On the Sami/Rafe/EJ front, Johnny has just had his eye operation, on the day EJ was supposed to marry Nicole.

And we’re also still lucky enough to have Bo and Hope together, in the middle of that organ donor storyline, which I think means the whole mess that is Daniel and Jen should start soon.

Here we go, a little flashback for you!

     Hi all,

I live in Cape Town, South Africa, where we are 3 years behind on the US shows. I discovered Days when I started university here, in 1998. Back then, it was the height of the Carrie/Sami/Austin triangle, and I got hooked. I started watching regularly but it wasn’t enough. I then went online and little by little, I caught up with the US by reading recaps on websites. So to me, Days is more like a book with characters than a proper soap these days.

When I read something that I think will spark my interest, I will go and watch it on YouTube. To decide what to watch, I use the recaps but also this board (please do not hesitate to point out a scene that is definitely worth watching!). I registered on the old board about 2 years before we switched to this new format, and I’ve been reading you all for a good few years now. As a result, I know which one of you will like such and such characters, and I really like the lively debate between you. Patti, Bonbon, when I see the two of you start discussing EJ and Sami, I almost reach for the popcorn! :)

Character-wise, I love Sami, Nicole, and Eric (I did make time to watch the entire 2 weeks during and after the Brady/Kristen wedding). This whole Sami/Kate/Gabi killed Nick storyline is fantastic, involving all characters like that. Brady is just what South Africans call a "doos", i.e. a box (an empty one, that is). Great actors, some greater than others, but hey, it all makes for a great show.

It does feel like a community here. I have thouroughly enjoyed the discussions, and the board is part of my daily online routine.

Thanks for being a part of my life for the last +/- 10 years, and happy new year to everyone.

    Hello from South Africa,

DOOL is on before I get back from work but I managed to catch bits of it last week. Grandpa Sean Brady has just died, Bo was on a hospital bed, and Robot John was there as well, with Marlena doing he best to "bring him back".

At least we still have John and Marlena!
