Participantthank goodness the weather is cooler! Great idea your sis has with the veggies added into the meat and freeze! I love the crockpot – I can always make a bunch and then freeze individual portions. And yes, it is tough cooking for just one or even two as opposed to four or more…I find myself never using my big pots or pans (unless I make spaghetti and freeze once a month or such). On the bright side, after rinsing dishes, I only have to use the dishwasher every second or third day.
I love the great tips and sharing on saving and cooking on this site with you guysies! It seems we’re all in the same boat – trying to save and such. Wish I’d paid more attention to what grandma and mom used to do about being frugal – they went through the depression and WWII so they knew how to save bucks! And really, I don’t see where we’re anywhere near what those folks went through, but these days do require saving and a sharp eye at the stores for bargins!

Participantabout the British accents – you should go over there and listen to them…it’s very hard to understand their English! I had to constantly say "Excuse me, can you please repeat what you said?" I thought in Great Britian I wouldn’t need a translator. Every fourth word made sense and I could understand.
I never even thought of the CC feature on the t.v. because a lot of times I am rewinding the DVR to see what the characters mumbled their lines or said it so fast, and last time I had my hearing checked, (just a couple of months ago), it was great! And everybody thinks we Californians speak fast!

Participanthave to purchase 10 cans – do you know how long it takes me to go through ten cans of peas? I’ve even put some in the doggies kibble…although, I do stock up on the two-fers like TP and paper towels! Can you believe the brand name TP goes for $15 !!! And Camp. soup is $1.25 for some flavors – I can remember not that long ago (it seems anyway) that I bought a can of soup for 25 cents a can…can you imagine what it’s going to cost in ten years for groceries? Not to mention electric, house, gas for the car – I think seniors are in big time trouble! So much for living to a ripe ol’ age!

Participantadopted/rescued older dogs as no one seems to want them because they have a few miles on them. There is a lot of life left in these older poochies and they have so much love. All they want it is a little food in their tummies and a warm place to sleep and someone to look them in their old brown (sometimes hazy) eyes and tell them what a good doggie they are and a pat on the head. God bless all the angel old doggies and sweet old people – they have a lot of love to still give!

ParticipantSami do another who’s the daddy story line or for that matter have anymore children – until she takes care of the ones she has herself and quits pawning them off to be raised by someone else from cradle to college thru to her own grandchildren!
Having said that, I’ll bet it will need to be Rafe’s child as they need some new blood in Salem – with the way everyone is interrelated by families, at least Rafe being the father would at least spread the branches of the family trees a bit for the future of the Salemites.

Participantfor the writer’s to take Carolines story down that path, than their normal baby switch/they slept with everyone/they are dead but not really because it was an evil twin/ etc., ho-hum story line! I think SP folks can come up with much better stories and resolutions to story lines any day of the week and twice on Sundays!

Participantlong before Vivy ever came back, even just keeping Victor as a close friend for a while if she wasn’t ready for a relationship after Shawn’s passing. Victor deeply cared for Caroline and he wished for something to happen between them. I was sorry to see that they didn’t work out, (Caroline’s fault), but I’m so happy that he’s got or is getting Maggie when Vivy gets put in her place, or somewhere.
Stephanie is going to be fun to watch for once when she comes unglued at the seems when Nathan finds out what Stephanie did in trying to switch the lab tests and if he and Mel get closer when and if Mel finds out about Phillip and Chloe (and you know she will, nothing ever stays a secrect in Salem).
I just had an amusing thought…when I typed the words "lab and switch" guess who has a know-how and history of lab tampering came to mind???? Ha-ha – Sami really did the lab switch
