Any one watch the "As the World Turns" (?) – after 54 years, it ended it run today. I don’t and haven’t ever watch it, but gosh I feel for the fans; as I would be just devastated if "Day’s" ever ended. I know there’s been rumors and "threats" from NBC over the past few years to end it.
the final scenes. It just ended with the light going out in Dr. Bob Hughes’ office. Not even a final ‘cast’ listing from what I saw. At least Passions and Santa Barbara ended with the audience getting to see all the stars and the behind the scenes people. Sad though.
I use to watch it with my mom when I was little Nancy and can’t remember what her husband’s name was. Bob was married to Lisa, Penny to Dan I think. Someone’s mother was named Clara and walked with a cane. Can’t remember anything else about it. She watched it along with All My Children, Days, The Doctors and Another World when they were all 30 minutes. When they started going to an hour something had to give and As The World Turns was the first to go. Then Days and All My Children were opposite each other and she’d watch 1/2 of each until Days won that battle The Doctors and Another World she watched until they ended.
It just about literally ended for some of the fans. That’s when I was on the NBC soap site and we all posted together on all the NBC soaps. Geeze, I thought some of them were ready to jump off a cliff. Some vowed to never watch another show on NBC and some other really drastic stuff. Of course I shouldn’t say anything because I don’t know what I"LL do if/when Days ends. Hopefully I’ll end first.
I had no idea it was even ending. This does not bode will for us soap fans. Does anybody know how they compared with Days in the ratings (overall)?
Jason posts what the ratings are every month or so on SP. I’m usually very disappointed as our show tends to come in way behind the other shows most of the time. It’s number one with this fan!
I’m not sure Bonbon, that is a dilemma, do I wanna go first before the show ends or not? Unless they have Days in heaven, because I wanna know what happens…like for instance: Will Sami ever grow up? Will Bo and Hope stay together through 80 more tragedies in their lives? Will the Phoenix ever stop rising? Will Vivy give up on cemeteries? Will Nicole ever find the right guy with enough money and power to make her happy? Will Marlena and John EVER come back to the show, (in my heaven they would)!
