Does anyone else notice that Will smirks at the most inappropriate times?  It sometimes looks like he’s about to laugh. Also if Abby had just jumped out of the elevator instead of being the damsel in distress ,Jack wouldn’t have died. I know they were doing an exit for the character, but why do women have to be portrayed as sniveling weaklings?

My husband points this out to me all the time!  "Why is that guy always smiling"?  And, I really don’t know what to tell him!  I think he is a good actor, but the constant smiling and smirking does become very distracting.  He was doing it even as he came into the pub and saw his grandfather strapped to a gurney… he turned around to Kayla to ask what he could do to help and he was half smiling!  WHY!!

Maybe he’s not smiling but that’s the way his mouth normally is.  People ask me all the time why I’m mad or ask why I’m frowning.  I’m not but I recently realized my mouth does turn down.

So many on this board talked about the great acting; but he smiles and smirks like he is very nervous and in situations that are most inappropriate. When he and his mother were fighting, I could understand the smirk. It was like he was trying to look sarcastic; but that smile in the midst of suffering was really weird. He looked medicated and out of what was going on.

As I’ve noticed this for a while, and thought, this isn’t a time to smile/smirk!  I’m wondering if, as DeeLan said, maybe that’s just the way his mouth is.  Now I have to look in the mirror and see what my mouth does!!

We’ve discussed Will’s quirky smiling when there is no reason to smile in the past.  It’s the one feature that brought criticism to the actor; other than that Chandler Massey’s version of Will Horton has been terrific.  I think it’s some sort of tic the actor possesses; that along with the widening of his eyes like somebody just yelled "SURPRISE."
