He got shot in the stomach, not the head. There’s no reason for him being in a coma other than for the dramatic effect…so everybody can talk (out loud no less!) to him and jerk on our heartstrings. He should have been awake when they brought him out of recovery. Napping, yes, unconscious, no.
I really get tired of them so blatantly screwing up the medical stuff on this show when it would be so easy to get it right.
yesterday’s show wasn’t that long after his gunshot-wound surgery. I think it was the same evening. Daniel (or maybe it was Maxine) said that he would be sleeping through the night and awake the next morning. So, I guess he’s just sleeping off the anesthesia rather than being in a coma. He did rouse a bit yesterday when Nick brought the baby in. He probably should have been awake when they brought him out of recovery, but then you are right–we wouldn’t have had all of those touching scenes with his loved ones!
It’s all about the drama I guess.I thought he was just sleeping through the night (probably a result of anesthesia and maybe some lovely pain meds?) not in a coma. They all knew he would be up by the next day.
You don’t stay in bed when you have a baby any more. Most everybody I know is up a few hours later unless it is a C section.
