I’d forgotten about that until you mentioned it! Heh Misslou – that is a great guesstimation on what’s going on with Chad/Kate and it would be about a right time line too, (given that Salem time is Twilight Zone time).
Wasn’t Kate involved with Roman back then? Could it be that he’ll be Chad’s father? Or Victor? I can’t remember way back that far but I remember Roman helping her at one point. I don’t see Stefano as the father but Victor? Wasn’t he in the nursing home during that time? Oh, horrid thought- please don’t tell me that Nicky Alamain will be the father – lol!
did Kate have an affair with Nick Alamain? If Nick is Chad father, would that make Chad and Melanie be half siblings, step siblings, aunt and nephew, or what? I need to stop guessing, this is too confusing.

a mother, Melanie would be Chad’s aunt and sister-in-law (Philip would be his half-sibling too). Gosh that would be another incestuous mess! lol
I think Roman came after that storyline. Victor wasn’t in the hospital then, he kicked her out without any money. If I remember he forbid her kids to help her. I’m not sure how old Phillip was back then but I think he was in high school. I’m also thinking that was the same time she tried to kill Victor and there was a fire and Lucas was badly burned. I remember her and Victor standing in the rubble when he told her she was penniless.
…the rrelationships on this show make my head spin as it is. Please don’t make it any more convoluted than it is now. However, I wouldn’t mind if they brought Nicholas Alamain back, but only if he’s played by the same character, can’t remember his name right now but he sure was a cutie. But, IIRC, Nicky was so severely SORASed that I don’t think he could possibly have fathered Chad. That would put him in his late 30s and Carly is only in her 40s. Uh-uh, I don’t think so. I’m still holding out for EJ, he needs some more kids. <extreme sarcasm>
I cannot imagine she knowingly is Chad’s mother and gave no hint of it all these years. Now if somehow she was made to give up the child at birth and didn’t know what came of it, then I could see. But as Kate apparently knows this secret between her and Madeline, I doubt Kate is Chad’s biomom. But I do still think he could well be a Dimera, especially with Tony dead and Stef could add another son to his empire.
