We never see Mickie or Alice – what was that about? It is pretty ridiculous to hear Julie, who is easily 25 years older than Hope, which would make her 70ish, talking about her living grandmother! I guess Salem is the site of the fountain of youth! This is a subject we have all beaten to death but honestly, a little reality check wouldn’t hurt!
December 25, 2009 at 9:05 pm #883053tdogsParticipantI thought we’d at the very least see a glimpse of two actor’s that had on white haired wigs through the kitchen door, "Mrs. H." could have been passing "Mickie" a plate of Christmas doughnuts! I would have been happy with that!
So true EllenKB! "Days" has stretched the reality line so many times for me sometimes I think I’m watching the Twilight Zone instead and ask myself "What did I miss? (or) "Not understand?"
December 28, 2009 at 9:56 pm #8928BonbonParticipantJulie should only be in her early 60s because she is much younger than Doug. Same as in real life. It’s still a stretch of believability though.
Well, let’s say Gran is 92, Addie could have been 72, Julie 52 and Hope in her 40s, which she is. Remember, Hope and Julie are sisters.
December 28, 2009 at 10:12 pm #8931ellenkbParticipantHope has to be at least 45 since Sean, Belle, and Phillip are all the same age and they are in their late 20’s at least. Julie was an adult and in love with Doug when Hope was born so she must have been at least 25ish which would make her 70. (In real life SS-H is 66 and Bill is 84) So being generous, if we were to believe that Julie is now 65, then Addie would be 85 and Alice would be at least 105 since I don’t think Addie was even the oldest child in their family, right? If you really want your head to explode, Julie has a very grown up son, David Banning, who has a son, Scott, who was in medical school about 20 years ago!
December 28, 2009 at 11:33 pm #893853tdogsParticipantthat was good – although I would age Julie by about four or five years. I never knew Hope and Julie were sisters – I’m going to have to go "Google" that story line…before my "watching" time. That’s why I love this site – I learn so much about the show.
December 29, 2009 at 12:40 am #8944DeeLanParticipantI started watching in the 60’s with my mom who watched since day 1. I remember her telling me Addie and Tommy were twins and I think they were the oldest. Then came Mickey, Bill and Marie who was the youngest.
We all know Salem has that magic water that ages some kids overnight and when you reach a certain age you stay there. Women in their 60’s are getting pregnant and have babies the same age as their great grandchildren.
December 29, 2009 at 12:56 am #8946JohnnyboyParticipantHope and Julie are not sisters. Hope is Doug’s daughter according to my recollection of the show from the 60’s and 70’s. Addie was Hope’s mother. I remember the Friday show when Addie was hit by the car. I recall the screech of brakes and then the finality of it all. It was a Friday cliffhanger!
At least I think based on my old old brain!! LOL…I have been a Days watcher since my grandparents’ day who watched it from Day 1.
December 29, 2009 at 2:54 am #8947DeeLanParticipantAddie had 2 children by her first husband, last name Olson. Julie and I think his name was Steven. When Julie was grown Addie married Doug and had Hope.
When Addie was pregnant with Hope she found out she had Leukemia. She refused treatment to save her baby and after Hope was born Addie was hit by a car while pushing Hope’s stroller across the street.
December 29, 2009 at 3:30 am #8948GoodyParticipantSo Hope and Julie are half sisters, having the same mother? Then Julie, who was born an Olsen, married Hope’s father, Doug Williams. You need a score card to keep up with who is related to whom, and how.

December 29, 2009 at 3:43 am #8949DeeLanParticipantRight. Susan and Julie were after the same man and Susan hired Doug to romance Julie. They had an on again/off again affair for years and during one of their off times for some reason he married Addie which caused a wedge between Julie and Addie. The thing was Doug really came to love Addie before she died.
Julie and Doug were the typical soap couple back then, so many obsticles in the way of them getting together and having their happyily ever after. Most of the time it was their own stubbornes that kept them apart like the time a stove exploded in Julie’s face and she was burned and scarred. She felt she wasn’t good enough for Doug so she kept him away. You knew it was a misunderstanding and she really wanted him but it took like forever for them to finally get together and when they did, WOW. One of the greatest romances and best couples in daytime.
December 29, 2009 at 4:49 am #895153tdogsParticipantI’m almost glad I’ve only been watching for about 19 years – I don’t think I could keep up on all the history you guys have on the show! I almost wish there was video (like they do with the prime time shows today) and be able to take a year to catch up from "Day" 1 !!!
December 29, 2009 at 4:57 am #8953DeeLanParticipantI don’t remember when it was but Soapnet had the very first episode of Days on a few years ago. I remember Julie was a teen and she was caught shoplifting.
December 29, 2009 at 11:34 am #8954SWParticipantdo a reverse SORAS’d when their kids have kids. I’m wondering if they are de-aging Philip now to put him with Melanie? lol I want to see it when EJ goes back to his real age – 2 years younger than Will! lol.
December 29, 2009 at 2:10 pm #8962BonbonParticipantWhile Doug was really in love with Julie, he married Addy because of her money. She bought him Doug’s place, and, yes, he eventually did grow to love her and probably would have stayed with her had she not died.
I didn’t go into the ‘Scotty-line’ because THAT one is just toooo mind boggling.
One reason some of us old-timers remember all this is because they’ve become family to us. Heck, I’ve known these characters longer than some of my own family.
December 29, 2009 at 10:26 pm #8976caseyParticipantare half sisters and that would make Julie Hope’s stepmom too. Only in soapland!
