Since we know Ava is coming back and Sami is gonna be around for a LOT of 2021 – how awesome would a Sami vs. Ava storyline be? Salem’s resident bad girl vs. the mafia princess? They share a grandchild (if Tripp is Ali’s baby daddy.) That would be one helluva rivalry.
The two of them taking each other on would be something else. Plus with that scenario, Steve is also the baby’s grandfather.
My question about Ava returning is once again, why are the writers bringing back unpopular characters? Who wants Bonnie back? Who wants Jan back? Who wanted Ava back? They aren’t unpopular because the actors make them unpopular (and they are all good actresses) it’s just completely unpopular characters. Also, it’s getting beyond ridiculous with the returning for the dead. It’s a part of soaps, but this lately is beyond insanity. Just lazy unoriginal writing. We need something for Steve and Kayla…I know! Let’s bring Ava back! Sounds good! How about a new story?
I’m happy about both Jan and Ava – i rather see them than Lani and Eli or Julie and her busy body ways.
But I would agree – we don’t need a Steve/Kayla/Ava triangle. Hence my Sami/Ava SL. I like T Braun – and I liked her as Ava more than I liked her as Nicole’s sister Taylor. She plays a good mafia princess. Salem needs a tough bitch – Kate has gotten soft, Sami is interim… bring it on Ava!
And Jan provides good cuckoo humor – I can’t imagine she’s long term.
The problem is, is Ava’s never been portrayed as a mafia bad ass. She’s just been a love sick/jealous/obsessed with Steve and Kayla mess. Speaking of Ava, this also leads me to a Princess Gina question. So, the REAL Princess Gina was in love with “Father John” who was who John was before Stefano turned him into Roman. Ava was in love with RoboSteve/Steve The Pawn while under his influence during his “dead/missing years.” Yet, they both wanted/obsessed over John and Steve even though neither versions of this Steve or John are the versions of Steve and John they love/obsess over. Gina loved “Father John”, not John Black. Ava loved “Robo Patch”, not Steve “Patch” Johnson. Neither John or Steve have memories of their alter egos, so it’s just dumb.
I’m just tired of all the people coming back from the dead. I thought we’d get rid of that after Stefan died and Rolf was locked up. Half the people Rolf brought back had nothing to do with the DiMera’s andit’s still happening. I mean, if I remember correctly Joey killed Ava.
I’m sure everyone thinks I just like to pick on him, but unfortunately that is one of Carlivati’s favorite soap staples. He loves to live in the past!
