Just saw an article from Day time Confidential that said Miller is leaving the show

     Anybody else see anything?

I have to think the character has to be recast. But we’re just getting comfortable w/Marci so this will be tough. Unless of course, the previous actress returns.

Marci was doing a great job.  Sad to see her go, but I always liked Kate.  Best of luck to Marci.

I am happy about this. I never warmed to her portrayal of Abigail. She’s too mousy for me. I wish Kate Mansi would stay but I can understand why she wouldn’t. I hope this leads to a Gabi/Chad reunion.

She has been amazing in the DID storyline, so she may have some good offers

    The recast changing the character…

Kate’s Abby was very "VIXEN" like to me…     Marci’s not so much.  And I don’t believe Kate could have pulled off this DID storyline like Marci is doing.

Sometimes a recast changes the character entirely.

Patrick Muldoon’s Austin was scrappy and street – Austin Peck’s was more dopey.

Lisa Rinna had street Billie.  Krista Allen was (to me anyway) a Porn Star Billie LOL…

Mansi is short term when she’s back so then what?  Abby being written out?

While I loved Kate Mansi and think she did a fine job portraying Abby’s instability she was almost TOO close to the edge all the time. Every little thing brought her to tears and near hysteria . Not so sure she would have been able to portray happy and mentally stable Abby as well as Marci Miller did and I don’t think she could have made the definitive lines between personalities as well conceived as Marci did either. Just my opinion of course, LOL

probably because she just got the lead in a new show about doctors without borders, or something like that.  I think she finishes taping this week, which means she’ll still be on air until at least mid to late October if they’re still filming 5 months ahead of air-time.  Marci did a fantastic job while she was here, but I have to admit I was surprised to read that Kate was coming back.  Guess the work out there isn’t what she expected it to be when she left, and one can only watch so many Lifetime movies before they all begin to look alike.

But I agree, that Marci did such an excellent job of portraying the different personalities and I’m not sure if Kate could have pulled it off. I only wish if Kate is coming back, that it wouldn’t be for a short time. It leaves so many questions out there. Will Abby go to a sanitarium again, will she and Chad break up, will Chad stick around or leave too?

But her name is WAY down on the cast list and while some actors have listed 8 appearances she is only listed as one so unless they decided to expand her character it doesn’t seem like a very big part.

Thanks dval.  The article I read on my phone said she was or had the lead, so I figured that’s why she quit; but maybe she’s just part of the cast.  Either way, I’d watch it when it comes out.  She’s a very good actress, IMO.  I love those kind of stories anyway.  Right now I’m reading Woman of God by James Patterson, co-written with Maxine Paetro, and it’s right up my alley; religion, the Church, the heartfelt hardships of the African people and the docs and nurses who do their best to take care of them throughout the civil war they can’t get away from in the Sudan in Africa…. and the determination of one immensely brave young woman …. just a super read!!!
