i may have asked this before, if i have sorry about asking it again,  how many of you have a Kindle or NookColor?  I’m seriously thinking of getting a kindle.  they are ALOT cheaper than the nookcolor and from what i read can do more stuff.  Do you like it if you have one??

and several of my friends have one too.  We all love them.  I don’t like to read a regular book anymore because I love my Kindle so much.  I’m still learning alot of things about it yet.  I just ordered some old classic books that I’ve never read and they were all free.  You can’t beat that.

I just stick it in my purse and take it wherever I go so if I get stuck in a line or have to wait for something (doctor’s appointments!!!), I just pull it out.  I don’t think you’ll regret buying one.

I only know one person that has a Nook and she said she wishes she’d had bought the Kindle instead.  I think Amazon is far ahead of the other e-readers.

Unless you’re going to be reading a lot of magazines and such, do you really need color?

I LOVE my Kindle.  Can’t imagine being without it now.  And as Bonbon said, unless you will be reading a lot of magazines on it,you won’t miss the color.

saying we would be able to share books with other Kindle owners for 15 days.  But I don’t think it’s taken effect yet.  My book club is very interested in that as one of us can buy the book and share with the others.

I’d be happy to share with you, once I find out how to do it.

subject, since we last chatted about it about 40 weeks ago!  Finally broke down, spent my hard earned little duckies and ordered my Kindle Fire!  Delivery tomorrow.  I’ve been listening to books on Audible.com and love them, but I figured it was time to get one so I don’t have to run to the library and stand in line at checkout every week.  Everyone out there still love their Kindle?????  (Please tell me you do and the money was worth it! – I know you have an IPAD Nora, but that was more bucks and I don’t need to surf the web on my book thingy – although, I hear Kindle Fire does have that feature).

I couldn’t decide between the Kindle or Nook.  Really wanted an iPad but refused to pay $500.  In October I got a Toshiba Thrive Tablet with 10.1" screen for $379 with an $80 gift card for Newegg which is where I bought it and I love it.  I downloaded the Kindle reader and get my books instantly and haven’t paid more than $6 for any book.  I just didn’t like that it was a bit bulky to toss in my purse to go to the docs office and such so i bought a $79 Kindle and got it last weekend.  I LOVE it.

The only reason I didn’t wait for or go with the Kindle Fire was that it’s not a true Android OS.  It’s an old Android OS that Amazon used to base their OS on where the Toshiba Thrive is Android 3.0 which is Android and built specifically for tablets where newer ones were for phones and adapted for tablets.  I’m on a blogging forum and a lot of women on there just got the Fire and think it’s great.

but all my friends have Kindle Fire and they play Scrabble with each other via KF so I had to get KF to play with them.  Also there is a web site "Pixles of Ink" this site has free and very low cost EBooks on it.   I will be sitting at my front door waiting on the delivery tomorrow morning!  Santa is coming early!  LOL!  Thanks for the info. !

I have had my kindle for couple of years now and LOVE it!  I have asked Santa for a Kindle fire and sure hope he comes through, (If not, I am buying one for myself the day after Christmas!).  I have the Kindle that uses both wireless and 3G and wouldn’t trade it for anything!

I’m perfectly content with my year-old Kindle.  I ended up in the hospital again yesterday with another blocked stomach but, since I usually carry it around with me, it sure made the time in the ER (which sometimes seems you sit there forever with nothing happening) and ultimately in my hospital room with nothing to do, go faster.

Whenever I buy any books (usually for my book club) I also go and get a bunch of frees ones too so I always have lots to pick from.  I find I spend between $10 and $20 a month but only because I’ll want a book I just can’t wait for.  I used to spend much more than that on Amazon.

We know that whatever you get, by next year they’ll have come out with something with more bells and whistles but I’m content for now with what I’ve got.  I know more people with Kindles than Nooks but everyone seems to like them equally well so I guess it doesn’t matter which one you get.

I’ve found that our local library now "lends" ebooks for free now too.  That’s a great resource as you can get the newer releases without having to pay for them.

game with friend all afternoon, and am halfway into a book called "The Hunger Games" sci-fi type genre, interesting premise.  Several other books downloaded.  And checking in my local library for "free" downloads as books get expensive.  I have three or four still to read on my Audible.com books  – THIS is what my retirement fantasy was all about!  So many books!  Why did I wait so long to get Kindle?  Why didn’t I listen to you guysies???  Back to books!
